Day 3 - Part 11

-How long have you danced? he asked from her when she was undressing, carefully putting her clothes to the chair, not wanting them to wrinkle.
-As long as I remember.
-How long have you tapped?
-Since I was five.
-Cool. You were hot on that stage.
-Do you know how old I am?
-No one named Charity can be over twenty-five.
She shook her head.
-And does it matter, anyway? he asked.
Charity looked man laying on the bed. He was wearing only boxers and his manhood was clearly visible. He let his hand slip over his stomach and over his crotch, stroking it, making it grow bigger. She was wearing just underwear.
-Get rid of that shit and get over here, he ordered. She didnt know why but she obeyed.

In another room Kevin was staring out of the window.
-When are you coming next time? he asked carefully.
-Kevin, Kristin sighed. -I dont know.
They had been talking their nights trough. Or actually Kristin had talked. She wanted to know why Kevin did something like that. But Kevin couldnt explain. Not yet. He was way too confused. And analyzing it with his wife was just too much. It frustrated Kristin though. She knew Kevin wasnt telling everything to her.
She could understand temptation and even surrendering to it. But she couldnt understand silence falling between them. Sure, she had been angry, shed been upset, shed been crying a lot. But Kevin was just like a rock. Not in a way he used to be, comforting, safe but just a cold and distant.
-I dont want to lose you, Kevin said.
Kristin wished she couldve said something to make things right.
-Im gonna take a bath. I have early flight to catch.
She went to bathroom, leaving Kevin in front of the window, staring out with glassy eyes, seeing nothing.

-I cant believe youre alone in this hotel room, AJ said to mirror. His reflection grinned. -Yeah. New York. All those hot chicks at the party. And all you silly man can think is your becoming wife and unborn child. Aint you stupid or what? Go out and have fun!
But he couldnt convince himself to do that. Shit, he didnt even smoke anymore. Just occasionally, when Helen wasnt around. But he would have to quit completely when baby was born.
-Youre turning into Brian, you know, he said out loud. -Youre gonna become living saint. Jesus. AJ get a life.
With a sigh he crashed down the bed and started surfing on channels.

Living saint was laying next to his wife, breathing heavily.
-Sometimes you surprise me, he said with a faint voice.
-Only sometimes? Leighanne asked with laughter. -I try to leave a good memory for you.
-You managed to do that once again, Brian said and snuggled closer to her. -Youll come to Stockholm, right? Should we rent a place like Howie and Alicia did?
-I think Ill enjoy room service out there. Sheraton isnt that bad place. And fans there are nice, not have to worry about them.
-True. Very true.
They both got to think incident between Kevin and that groupie. Brian also tried to remember girl who had been raped but for his sadness he couldnt.
-Were so happy, he said and kissed her neck.
-Thats also very true, Leighanne whispered. -Promise youll take care of them.
-I always look after my boys.
-Howie is doing fine, so is AJ. Hurts me to see how happy they are. After such a long period of uncertainty they finally deserve some happiness.
-Youre so right, Brian said. -But Kevin...
-Yeah, Kevin. Its obvious with him. You got to keep him out of trouble. For his and all of yours sake. Then theres Nick.
-What about Nick? I think hes doing all right.
-Hes lonely, Leighanne said. -I mean in a couple kind of meaning. He wants to meet someone. Im just afraid that he will fall too hard and too fast.
-Didnt he leave with that dancer, whats her name?
-Charity. Yes he did. But you know how it is, they never wake up with him. If someone ever does, make sure shes worth it. I dont want our little to get his heart broken.
-Nick hates when you call him little.
-Thats why hes not here listening.
-Could be some other reason too, Brian grinned and rolled over his wife. -Or what do you think?
-I think I love you.

Alicia leaned to the counter and looked at Howie who was dancing. He had stolen everyones attention in the club. He danced well, she had to admit that. She took half of the credit but Howie had really trained while being on tour. Must be why his body was even hotter than before, getting flexy and dense, in a way he loved in a man. Others seemed to love it too.
She laughed when Howie tried some new turns with an older lady who wasnt sure what to do but managed to get it done properly. Alicia sipped some more wine. They would dance until morning, up till sunrise. Like they used to do as a group before. It didnt bother Alicia that rest of them werent there. But she didnt know if Howie cared. He didnt look like it at all but sometimes he was so inscrutable.
Alicia glanced to her side, Louis was in the other end of counter, laughing at Howie as well. She felt safe seeing that big man standing there. For a few times they had gotten into a trouble just by hanging out. Leaving trough a back door wasnt what she wanted. She wanted normal life. But she also wanted to be with Howie. And with him you slowly forget what normal used to mean to you.

We are walking back to my hotel. Its getting darker, stores have lighted their Christmas lights, stars, candles everywhere. Would be very idyllic if the wind didnt blow so hard, lifting the snow spinning in the air.
-Did you get to party with guys that night?
-Nah, she says. -If Greg wouldve gone, then maybe. But going right under Kevins eyes wouldnt have been very wise thing to do. And we hadnt done any of the packing yet. We were about to leave early in the morning to the airport. We tried to get tickets by cancellations so that they wouldnt cost that much.
-What did you think about going to Europe?
-I was exited, of course. I had been travelling but never been to England.
-How did you like it?
-Ill tell you later.
-OK, I agreed, learning my lesson.

-You have to leave, he said when she came back from bathroom.
-What? Its 5 am.
-You have to leave.
He looked away. He didnt like saying those words. But he had to.
-Why? Charity came to sit on bed. -Why do I have to leave now? Are you also going to give me some money so that I would feel myself as cheap as possible?
-Dont you have a kid to go to?
-I dont believe I just had sex with one, she said and stood up, starting to dress.
-I cant sleep with women, he explained.
-Oh, what was that then?
-It was sex and it was great. Thank you for that. But I cant fall asleep with a woman. I have to sleep alone.
-And of course gracious Nick Carter needs to get his beauty sleep.
Charity had got most of her clothes on and was standing in the middle of the floor, staring down on Nick, making him feel really uncomfortable.
-No hard feelings, he said, his voice almost lowering to whisper.
-No any feelings. Bye.
She left and he felt awful. Why didnt he ever learn that saying those words to a woman never exceeded what had happened earlier?

We are getting closer to hotel.
-Can we walk some more? she asks.
-Why would you want to do that?
-Theres only some story left until I let you to watch some tapes. I left those to your room earlier and I know you wouldnt listen me right if wed go up there.
-Why do you think Id listen you down here?
-Because you have to concentrate on my words in order to forget how cold it really is.
I shake my head.
-Youre unbelievable.
-Many have said that.

Cara looked around. She was sitting alone in Kennedy airport as Peach and Pie went to the counter to get tickets. They had been in airport over nine hours, all exhausted and cranky, wanting to get on plane and on the way. Boys had left about five hours earlier, by the noon but they werent able to go see them because of the things they carried with them. They had to go to the counter every half an hour to ask tickets. And cueing down there took at least twenty minutes. So one of them sat by the bags as two went to the desk. They were also checking places to other cities in England or even somewhere near. It now seemed that getting tickets to Paris plane was possible. But it meant more traveling until London and boys would be there just few days before returning to their tour. But there came girls.
-We got the tickets! Peach yelled from far, making Cara jump up and ran to her, hugging both of them, smiling from ear to ear.
-Which flight?
-Sudden cancellation on next flight to London. Leaving in an hour. We should go check in right now.
Cara got serious for a while. She did have a problem she hadnt told to girls. It was her passport. But then she thought they knew situation, it was same for them too. Not show it to your friends, keep your real name and your privacy.
-OK, take you bags, lets go girls! Pie joyed. Cara grabbed her things and started to walk. Peach and Pie came little behind her, looking at each other with sad eyes.

Check-in went perfectly. They decided to go one by one so that even slightest chance of seeing others passport was gone. Cara was first one to go.
-We dont have seats next to each other so you just go to plane and settle down. Well meet in London, right?
-Right, she said and smiled. -I cant believe were actually going!
-Me either, Pie said and hugged her. -Take easy on the flight, will you?
-Yeah, try not to think about it, Peach added and kissed her cheek.
