BLOGGER INSTRUCTIONS

 

1.        You will receive an email from blogger.com inviting you to join a blog.  In the email there will be a link for you to follow.

2.        Follow the link in the email (either click on it or cut-and-paste it into your web address bar) to a new page.

 

 


3.        If you are already a member of blogger.com and you provided you teacher with the same email with which you originally registered at blogger, you will simply be asked to accept your teacher’s invitation to join your class blog.  After you have accepted the invitation you are done and you may being blogging.

4.        If you are NOT a current member of blogger.com you will be asked to create an account.

a.        Choose a user name and password that you will remember.  Your teacher will not be able to help you if you forget.  It is your responsibility.

b.       Your display name MUST be your first and last name.  This is the only way to ensure that your teacher knows that you are participating on blog.  Cute screen names have no place here. 

c.        Enter an email address that you check.  Blogger will not send you random emails for no reason. 

d.       Read and accept the “Terms and Conditions”.

e.        Accept the invitation to join your AP US History blog.

 

 


General Blogging Rules

  1. When it is your turn/your group’s turn to post terms, it must be done on blog by the date indicated on your calendar.  Because you have ample advanced notice on these dates, computer troubles will not be a valid excuse for failing to post. 
  2. All blogs should have a title so that they can be easily found in the future. 
  3. If you cannot use blog in an adult manner, you will be removed from blog by your teacher and not allowed to post any more.  This will have a negative effect on your grade.

 

How to View and Post on Your Class Blog

  1. Your teacher will provide you with the web address of your class blog.  This is where you go when you just want to view/read the blog.  Unless it is your turn to post terms or you are asking a question, this is probably all you will need to do.

  1. To post a blog you must go to www.blogger.com and logon using the username and password that you created.
  2. After you have logged on you will be taken to your “Dashboard” where all the blogs of which you are a member are listed. 
  3. Click on the blog you want to post on. 
  4. Under the “Posting” tab, click “Create”.  This takes you to a page with a title bar and a big rectangular box in which you can type (or cut and paste if you are posting terms) your post.  It works much like Word and you can bold, italicize, etc. 
  5. When you are done with your post click “Publish Post” and wait for blogger to publish your post. 
  6. To view the blogger after posting you may click on either the “View Blog” tab, or go to your class blog address. 

 

 

Posting on blog is a requirement for your class.  If you are not tech-savvy, this is the time to learn something.  Ignore your class blog at your own risk!
