In the land of Carcoris there dwelt 6 races. They were the Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Elves, Men, and Dragons. Each was isolated and alone in seperate parts of the world. The Dwarves delved deep into the heart of the Western Mountains. The Orcs took up an abode in the eastern wastes. Men Built their civilization near the coast and the southern wastes. Elves constructed their homes in the great woods of the East. Goblins dwelt at the foot of the mountains of the west. And dragons haunted the cold Northlands.

But one day there was a meeting between Men and Orcs. A great battle was fought and lost by the men. Gradually they were pushed back into the angle between the river and the sea. It was at this dire moment in time that the elves made theirselves known. They aided the men in driving the goblins north again. Meanwhile the goblins had been driven to attack th mountain dwarves by their chieftans who were afraid of Dragon-fire. The dwarves fought back valiantly and a small party of them fought their way easttward. It was thus that they arrived at the kingdom of men.

Many years later the Elves, Men, and Dwarves built a wall hundreds of miles long from the coast to the marshes. It was constantly manned by large garrisons of troops that seemed invincible. But then the dragons came out of the north and assaulted the orcs and goblins.

The Orcs and Goblins were stricken with fear and retreated southward. They were met by the armies of Men, Elves, and Dwarves. Now is when you shall change the tides of History. Will the Orcs and Goblins overrun the free peoples.... or will the Elves, Men, and Dwarves defend their lands valiantly enough to wether the tides of time.
