Shall I seek other than God as a judge when He has sent down to you this Scripture fully detailed? Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it is sent down from your Lord with truth; so do not be of those who have doubt. (6:114)

Now it is up to you to give an answer to such a question as above. Yes or no? Will you, or will you not seek for a judge other than God!

Did they not look at the dominion of heavens and earth, and all that God has created? Perhaps their time is drawing near; so in which narrations after this one will they believe? (7:185)

What is your answer to the above question? None or something other? Will you believe in another hadith/narration after God's, or will you not believe in another!

These are God's revelations that We recite to you with truth. So, in which narration after God and His revelations do they believe? (45:6)

How will you answer the above question? Will it be none or something other? Will you believe in another hadith/narration after God and his signs/revelations, or will you not?

What is wrong with you, how do you judge? Or do you have another scripture to uphold? (68:36-37)

How will you answer the above? Yes or no? Is there another book besides God's that you read/study?

So in what words after this will they believe? (77:50)

In the above will you answer none or something other? Will you, or will you not believe in another word/discourse after God's?

Looking at the above verses we can conclude that it does not matter whether the ahadith are strong or weak, or whether the ahadith are sahih or dha'eef. If the ahadith are strong it is still '
other than God and His signs/revelations' being that they are not narrated within the scripture. The same is true if they are weak ahadith outside of the Quran. So regardless of what the ahadith are, they are 'other than God and His signs/revelations'! The books of Bukhari, Muslim, and earlier ahadith collectors are books that many muslims uphold. Look at verses 68:36-37 and answer the question. Do you have another book/scripture that you uphold?

God even makes it clear what should be followed. God says to follow that which is revealed. Throughout the whole book of God, that which is revealed, refers to the book/scripture. It can only be the book/scripture seeing as how the disbelievers themselves are narrated as calling for only another '
Quran' to be produced or calling the messenger to change the 'Quran' (see 10:15) whenever revelation is recited to them.

Follow what is inspired to you from your Lord; there is no god but He, and turn away from those who have set-up partners. (6:106)

And...

Follow what was sent down to you all from your Lord, and do not follow besides Him any supporters. Little do you remember! (7:3)

Now ahadith can definately reflect on the teachings of the Quran, but one must realize that it cannot expand on the Quran because it is the Quran that is the noor/light (see 4:174, 9:32, and 42:52). How can the light be outshone? Also, if one adds to something or annuls something by authority, as a law, this is called abrogation. If one says that gold and silk are forbidden for men to wear, than this is annuling God's prescribed system. This makes most ahadith null/void in regards to God's system because they abrogate the scripture. All the talk of the Quran not giving the details to salat and zakat are contradictory to Quranic teachings. The messenger can only reflect the Quran's light (6:50, 7:203, 10:15, 41:9) and the ahadith can only be a reflection of the light of the Quran.

God is the light of heavens and earth. The example of His light is as a concave mirror within a lamp, the lamp is within a glass, the glass is like a shining planet which is lit from a blessed olive tree that is neither of the east nor of the west, its oil nearly gives off light even if not touched by fire. Light upon light, God guides to His light whom He pleases. And God strikes the examples for mankind, and God is aware of all things.
(24:35)

Some people try to put out God's light.

They wish to put out God's light with their mouths. But God will continue with His light, even if the rejecters dislike it. (61:8)

You people must be careful. Is it not apparent how the ahadith are used by it's adherents to extinguish God's light and is used to be placed above the Quran as the light? If you take a look at the verses of
2:17-20 you will see the parable of those who try to put up a light in preference to Gods light, but their light cannot outshine God's light. They also only walk in God's light when it is in agreement with the light they have set up. This is the condition of many adherents to the ahadith collections of the muslim scholars who have lost true direction and have chosen error over guidance (2:16). The quran alone is law in al-islam (see 13:37).

Say: Are there any of those whom you set-up as partners who can guide to the truth?? Say: God guides to the truth. Is He who guides to the truth more worthy of being followed, or the one who does not guide except after he is guided? What is wrong with you, how do you judge? (10:35)

Do you ever wonder what happens when one, who is a disbeliever, is called to follow that which God has revealed? It is the condition of the disbelievers (see 2:6-7) that will ever be the same.

And if they are told: Follow what God has sent down, they say: No, we will follow what we found our fathers doing! What if their fathers did not understand anything and were not guided? (2:170)

And...

And if they are told: Come to what God has sent down, and to the messenger; they say: We are content with what we found our fathers doing. What if their fathers did not know anything nor were guided? (5:104)

And...

And if they are told: Follow that which God has sent down. They say: No, we will follow what we found our fathers doing. What if the devil is leading them to the agony of Hell? (31:21)

According to the book of God people will inherit a set of beliefs and simply uphold them as if these organized set of beliefs, which people live by, will guide them to that which is most right. Perhaps this is the way of these people in simply trying to give a good review for a bad thing.

And if they commit evil acts, they say: We found our fathers doing such, and God ordered us to it.Say: God does not order evil!.  Do you say about God what you do not know? (7:28)

And...

They said: Have you come to us to turn us away from that which we found our fathers upon, and so that you two would have greatness in the land? We will not believe in you. (10:78)

And...

They said: We found our fathers worshipping them.
(21:53)

And...

They said: No, but we found our fathers doing the same. (26:74)

And...

No, they have said: We found our fathers following a certain way, and we are following in their footsteps. And similarly, We did not send a warner to a town, except its carefree ones said: We found our fathers following a certain way, and we are following in their footsteps. (43:22-23)

So remember, Gods path is the right path. Follow it and you will be on right guidance to God's system. Jesus spoke this.

God is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him, this is a Straight Path. (3:51)

Another method that is used for law by the people is consensus, or agreement among the scholars/ulema. It is believed by the people that the prophet said the majority of muslims will never agree on the wrong thing. So the scholars word becomes law! This cannot be right because al-quran states that it is the law (see 13:37) and that the people are to follow the best word (see 39:18). The best word need not simply be held among the elite, or the majority. One should also note that God speaks of how the majority are usually in the wrong (see 6:116) and how the elite hold their status of being in the majority as a stepping stone for rejecting that with which they do not agree on (see 19:73).

So in all this let's conclude. What is the best hadith/discourse/narration/saying according to God? The Book of God says:

God has sent down the best narration, a Scripture that is similar with two paths. The skins of those who reverence their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to the remembrance of God. Such is God's guidance; He guides with it whoever He wills. And for whomever God misguides, then none can guide him. (39:23)

The book of God is the best hadith/narration and should be the only hadith/narration looked to for God's law in al-islam. Anything else will only be a reflection or a corruption of the message. Not only that, the very first chapter/surah of the book of God points to the fact that God alone is that source of guidance to God's deen/system. It (Chapter 1) is a dua to God for guidance to this straight path.

In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds. The Almighty, the Most Merciful. Possessor of the Day of Judgment. You alone we serve, You alone we seek for assistance. Guide us to the straight path. The path of those whom You blessed, not those who have incurred the wrath, nor the misguided. (1:1-7)
