So, I was at school today, killing some time to pass my 8 hour break between Math and English Class. I was sitting on a bench outside listening to this girl talk on her damn cel phone. She was dressed like a drag queen from The Rocky Horror Picture Show (she could have passed for a male), and babbling about trend. She came to her own conclusion that Goths were the "True" Anti-Trend in society. She came to this deduction by some "Spirit of self expression" crap, that I didn't pay much attention to as I was struggling to avoid a brain anneurism and keep from hemmoraging because my brain was choking on the information it was being fed. I went and held my head to the garbage can as my left ear puked, and then I came to the computer lab to ramble on and on about this.
I decided to go find some evidence that supports my theory that this girl was full of shit and was spitting out a farce from her own imaginary fairy tale of Marilyn Manson in Wonderland. I started off by researching the word "Trend." I found the defintion to be simple, and straight to the point: Please look at Exhibit A:
After doing this, I decided to go out on the internet and find some images of Gothic Fashion, and see exactly how these people express themselves. These are anti-trendy people all together in the same room, which is far less than appealing to me. Please look at Exhibits B-E:
Great, so what do we notice about these unique individuals who are freely expressing themselves with their fashion? This is my conclusion:
But hey, in the real world, we're all part of a trend someway or another, so get used to it. Being a goth and saying your are not trendy is as oxy-moronic as an "Anarchist Society" (Cerda). Yeah, I'm part of a trend. I'm a part of the "wake up in the morning and find whatever's on the floor that doesn't smell as bad as the rest and get away with wearing it twice" trend. I'm sure there are more of you like that out there. So what is the moral of this? Marilyn Manson is not referring to you when he sings "Beautiful People." You are truely an ugly and repulsive individual. Ugly Like This Nasty Creature
