I don't know who this Detective Everett is that is "working" on my brother's case, but he is a horrible horrible man.   How anyone can be so rude and mean to a victim's family member is beyond me.  I was not rude to him, but he was horrid to us.  "I'm not going to play 20 questions with you" when I asked him about some things that were on the police report.   "You're obviously trying to do your own investigation" - duh! .... since the ones my tax dollars pay for obviously aren't.  "What difference would it have made?"  to  "why did the police officers go to his friend's house at 5:30 in the morning and say that he had been pulled over for a traffic violation and why did no one try to contact the family?"  ... and NO ONE ever did contact us ... the detectives did not call the owner of the car until after 9:30 in the morning  ...  WE got a call from his friend after that.

What upsets me most is this detective is a man of color ... like us ... he was rude and mean when I was NOT rude or demanding of him.  What a stupid jerk ... he is not the kind of person who should be in this type of job ... I will never ask to speak to him again ... ever.  Apparently he has the Napoleonic complex ... give him a little power, and he abuses it.   I will pray for him.
