Fanfiction Slang and Terminology
Here is a page that defines all fanfiction slag terms that might be used on this site.
Alternate Universe, Elseworld, or AU- These words all mean the same thing. A fic like this has the characters of the anime existing in a different world than the anime. Its mainly like taking the cast of the slayers and dropping them into our world, or a world created by the author. A lot of things my be the same, (people seen, Things known, and the like), but it is still not their mideval world.
Lemon- A lemon fic is pretty much an adult fic. These fics contain sexually explicide material, and doesn't need to be read by any one under 18 or people that are offended by this type of material.
Lime- A lime goes along with it citrus companion the lemon. A lime is a fic that contains a dumbing down of what appears in a lemon. A lime usually will be a precursor to a lemon fic, but not always. A lime usually consist of the characters makig out, and things like that. Still advisable that no one under 18, or people that are offended by this sort of material should read.
Yaoi- Yaoi means that there is a slight if not full homosexual relationship or situation between male characters within the fic. Those who are offended by this type of material should not read any of these fics.
Yuri- Yuri means that there is a slight if not full homosexual relationship or situation between female characters within the fic. Those who are offended by this type of material should not read any of these fics.
Cross-Overs, or Fusions- Cross-Overs and Fusions fics are where they author has taken two animes and combined them into one. (An example of this would be my GunSmith Slayers fic) But most of these fics will invovle the characters in one fic to be dropped into the world of another anime and take the places of characters that come close to how they think and act (Again my GunSmith Slayers fic where Lina has taken the role of Rally Vincent and Zel the role of The Bean Bandit[corny name I know but the guy got up and walked away from a shipping crate being dropped on him so he gets cool points in my book]).
