: North and Eastern Australia

Size:
10cm - 11cm

Description
: Male Head, back and upper wings brown-black with white spots.  Upper rump and tail are black with white lower rump and undertail.  Under parts and face cream, with black ring around face and black bar across lower breast.  Grey legs and mandible, brown eyes.
Female Similar to males but with thinner barring.

I actually have Black-rumped Double Bars,  which are the same as the description above except that the rump is black instead of white (hence the names....)

As Double Bars are notoriously difficult to sex I am ecstatic that my birds are definitely a pair and that they took quickly to the idea of breeding.
