There are 8 Species of Sea Turtle, 5 can be seen in the Maldives, the two we saw in the Maldives were the Hawksbill and the Green Turtle. (Below) Is our first sighting of a Green Turtle in a cave ! All turtles you see are green turtles |
There are several differences between the Hawksbill and Green turtle. The first is the green has two prefrontal scales, the Hawksbill has four. |

The other difference is that the Carapace "Shell" on the Green turtle looks smooth whereas the Hawksbill has overlapping scales |
