This Page is dedicated to our dive with Turtles at the Caves
There are 8 Species of Sea Turtle, 5 can be seen in the Maldives, the two we saw in the Maldives were the Hawksbill and the Green Turtle.

(Below) Is our first sighting of a Green Turtle in a cave ! All turtles you see are green turtles
There are several differences between the Hawksbill and Green turtle. The first is the green has two prefrontal scales, the Hawksbill has four.

Getting an underside view, this is a green turtle (below) becasue it is so clean
The other difference is that the Carapace "Shell" on the Green turtle looks smooth whereas the Hawksbill has overlapping scales

The turtle (Below) swimming away for air is a female, the differnce between sexes is that you can see the males sexual organ between his legs !

A common Porcupine fish, the spines can be seen on its back, wow these would hurt !!
A Gonzoid fish, a very unique spot !!!
A lovely Powder-Blue Surgeon fish, Superb Blue coulouring
A rare sight of a Napoleon Wrase, these fish are huge and can grow to 6ft long !

Rosa, our instructor on the course, she was a fish !!! She has completed over 2,500 dives in 10 years !!
