Summary: Spun out of Journey Into Mystery after appearing from issues #83-125. Thor became one of Marvel's biggest stars in his own title and also in the Avengers. In 1996, Marvel decided to restart the Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man and the Fantastic Four and place them in a pocket universe, retelling their origins. Thor came along, but did not get his own title, appearing only regularly in the new Avengers series. However his series numbering continued for a new Journey Into Mystery title which featured Red Norvell and the Lost Gods of Asgard. In July 1998, after the heroes returned from their own little universe, Thor got his own series again with a new #1 issue. In 2001, Marvel began its sub-numbering system with a smaller number indicating what issue it would be if the series hadn't been relaunched. Thor's sub numbering didn't count the Journey Into Mystery issues of #503-521, so issue #36 was also #538. During the Avengers Disassembled storyline, Thor and the gods of Asgard went through Raganok and all perished along with the title. Thor is due to be relaunched again at a later date.INDEX
