Summary: To keep another company from creating a female version of the Hulk, Marvel created She-Hulk. Bruce Banner's cousin Jennifer Walters was gunned down by gangsters who she was about to prosecute at a trial. Bruce gave her a blood transfusion but while saving her life, his gamma-irratiated blood gave her the ability to turn into a She-Hulk. Unlike Bruce, Jen retained her intelligence and began to like her She-Hulk persona so much she decided to stay that way. She-Hulk became a member of the Avengers and even replaced the Thing in the Fantastic Four for a time. She-Hulk also continued her law career. She-Hulk had two series in the 1980s, with the Sensational She-Hulk being a comedic book where she broke down the third wall and talked to comic book readers. She-Hulk got her third series and premiered along with many new comics such as Captain America and the Falcon and Iron Fist. The book was well written by Dan Slott and received critical praise but low sales. Marvel decided to cancel the book after a year and relaunch it. The third issue of Volume 2 was sub-numbered #100 as it was the 100th issue of a solo She-Hulk book.INDEX
