We were the home team, so we started off in the field. We were soon switched sides as our defense allowed no runs. On offense, we picked up one run on a double by John A. and a triple by Jay. After one inning, we led 1-0.

Inning two saw the Chicks tie the score at one and hold us to only one hit - a single by Kathy.

In the third we allowed three more runs and came up empty during our turn at the plate, leaving us trailing 4-1.

There was no screaming from the Chicks in the fourth as their bats were quiet as well. Three consecutive singles - by Jay, Eric, and John W. - weren't enough to get anything going for us and we finished the inning still down 4-1.

We gave up three more runs in the top of the fifth to put us a bit more in the hole, but our batters worked at chipping away at their lead. Bob singled and and scored on a double by Jimmy. Rob singled to score Jimmy before the inning ended and we were now only four runs back at 7-3.

Sadly, our opponents weren't ready to give up yet and added two more runs to their total in the sixth. Jay doubled and both Eric and John W. singled, giving us one more run, but we were now down by five runs, 9-4.

The Chicks got one more run during their last at bat while we hoped for a rally. Bob led off with a triple and was brought home when Jimmy doubled. Rob hit a long single to score Jimmy, but was later forced out at second while Jeff made it safely to first. John A. and Jay both singled to load the bases, but we fizzled out there. The final score was Screaming Chicks over Final Insult 10-6.

Offensive honors go to Jay (4-4), John W. and Jimmy (3-3), and Eric and Bob (2-3). Pitching duties were handled admirably by John A. with Bob behind the plate. Special thanks to our guest batboy Jason for cheering us on from the bench. After the game, a hungry bunch of Insult'ers made their way to Palumbo's for pizza, beer, and garlic knots - a good time as always!
