The first week, I was here, there was this trip that all international students went. It was to the outskirts of Hailuoto Islands. Because most of Finland is made up of islands, this one had to be visited.
I don't quite remember what that tour girl was saying about this Hailuoto Island, but all I remember from this trip is the nasty wind.... yah.... it was a windy day, and Paula and I, the only two students from Canada, wore the least amount of clothes. (ok, mom, please don't nag, i will be more prepared next time...)
What else do I remember from this trip.... they tried to make 1 pancake which took them 2 hours!!! Mostly because the pan was so hot, the pancake kept on burning. (don't ask, you had to be there). And then, there's that Finnish dance that we learnt there - step, step, jump! step, step, jump!! jump!! jump!! jump!! jump!!! jump!! jump!! jump!! jump!! jump!!!...... I'll show you how to do it when I get back home.....
Oh yah... the dark picture was at a Partey at the beginning of the term. Yep, I was alcohol-free. But the people all around was going at it a bit too much. There's Ferrain (from Barcelona...woohoo!!), with our kummi Jani who's hiding in the back, with Grace, Heather, and this guy I met who's also in EE. Sorry man, I'm bad with Finnish names.
