" My Finnish family is really nice!

I met them through the International Finnish Family Program.  It was my first time to be in contact with Finnish people, and it was also their first time meeting a chinese girl like me too! " =)

" Here you see two pictures of Marja, Maiju, Johanna, and oh... we cant forget Rilla!  =)

They were showing me around their little town.  They live in a town called Ii.   (Yup, Finnish city names are really hard to pronounce..... they are either too long, or too short)

Maiju (whos wearing red) is soon the bride-to-be.  She will be getting married with Jouni on Dec 18, 1999.   And they are so sweet, they invited me to their wedding!! "

"Heres a photo of me and my little Finnish sister, Johanna.  Shes 17 years old, a very bright and charming young girl.

Really wanna thank her, because shes always the translator in the house.  She has been teaching me many Finnish words......

voy ............is butter
kurkku .......is cucumber or pickle
marja .........is this orange-looking berry
ruisleipp ...is one type of bread
samporai.....is another type of bread
nakileipp....is another type of bread
verileipp....is another type of bread

(oh, i remember that only my Finnish dad likes verileipp, but everybody in the house dreads eating it.   Because it was made of reindeer blood? )

Poor Rudolph!!

"One night we went to their summer cottage, and i didnt quite understand what the bonfire was for, but it served to burn all the objects that got floated onto the shore.... "
