Fil-Am Youth of North Whidbey Island
Our youth core group named "HALO-HALO" initially consisted of 6 high school students, appointed as Fil-Am of Oak Harbor youth representatives. For their first group project, five of the initial core group attended WSU FASA's "Strategize to Mobilize" workshop last March 1998. The first thumbnail above leads to a picture of our initial youth core group. This picture was taken at WSU in Pullman, WA during this workshop.
Since then, HALO-HALO continued to get involved in various Fil-Am events and entice the rest of the Fil-Am children and their friends to get involved also. Last June 1998, Kathy and Brian Mitre were appointed and added to the rank of the Fil-Am of Oak Harbor youth representatives.
Acting as this group's advisors currently are Ray & Jopine Atienza, Vic & Marilou Guerra, and Mike Mallari. Mike has been helping the group in building their own web site.
