breaks ground for a new elementary building |
The
continuous improvement of the school's facilities took its new course
through the construction of a three-storey elementary building.
A ground breaking ceremony was held last September 15, 2006 at the
FCC farmland as this signals the start of the construction this
first week of December. Adjacent to this is the High School Complex
which will house an a fourth floor for classrooms and the Electronics
and Communications Engineering course as well as a speech laboratory
for the students.
The L-shaped structure of the elementary building will be constructed
in such a way that the rooms would be far from the afternoon sunlight
making it more convenient for the students and conducive for learning.
The building alone was allotted mpre the Php 40M for the ongoing
construction.
Elevators will also be provided for an easy access to whichever
floor the students may go. The High School complex will also incorporate
these elevators because of the addition of another floor. The cost
of these would amount to Php 1.8 M while the construction of the
rooms excluding chairs and other facilties eill be around Php 5
M. |

FCC
celebrates 102nd Anniversary |
Filamer
held its 102nd Foundation Anniversary Celebration last August 23-26,
2006 at the FCC Gym with the theme, " Affirming the Filamerian
Spirit in a Changing World". The celebration was officially
declared by the College President, Dr. Expedito A. Señeres,
during the opening ceremony last August 23 at the FCC Gym. The activity
kicked off through a parade around the city of Roxas and was participated
by faculty, staff, students, and alumni from the various colleges
and academic units.
"In this rapidly changing world, we should continue to affirm
that Filamerian spirit handed down to us by our founders and pioneers.
let us also continue to strengthen our Filamerian spirit of unity
and brotherhood as one big happy family," remarked Pres. Señeres
in is welcome address during the opening program of the said celebration.
He stressed out that the true mission of the college all through
the years that is to spread the Gospel of Salvation in the world. |

and Heads initiate a 5-year strategic plan |
Members
of the Filamer Christian College Corporation together with the invited
Deans and Principals set off for Boracay for the five-year strategic
plan last November 3-5. This strategic planning was pushed through
in preparation for the accreditation of the school. This is one
of the Filamer’s paramount goals in reaching the University
status.
The event covers the discussion of plans of every department both
on the Academic and Non-Academic phase. Each Deans and Heads prepared
their plans for their colleges and departments for the next five
years, respectively. The Presidential staff which includes the Human
Resource and Development Center, the Chaplaincy, the Security Office,
the Office of the Student Affairs, the Sports Department and the
Alumni Office also presented their plans.
Included also is the SWOT Analysis - a study of the Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities, and Threats of each departments. This tackles what
each Department Heads and Deans have noticed on their few years
of operation which will enable them to improve aspects they have
not given much attention. This is initiated also to further assess
what they have accomplished in a span of time. |
