An Elvish Bedroom
![]() |
This was an Elvish styled bedroom found in some magazine. (I forgot the name of it, but I found the article on tORN.) It was in some other language that I didn't understand, so I took out all the words, and I'll use my own instead.

Firstly, you'll want to pick out a color theme. This one seems to be done in rich shades of blues, with accents of vibrant greens, and white to add a bit of brightness.
For pillows and sheets, if you're looking for a design, try something along the lines of ivy, or vines that seem to flow. I wouldn't go for a direct floral print since we're looking more toward leaves, vines, and trees rather than flowers, unless you really love them and they fit excellent with your theme.
Flowers DO go well when finding objects to accent your room with. But again, you see the Ivy added for that leafy effect. You'll also note the water in this flower bowl, something reminiscent of Galadriel's mirror.
Something else Elves have involved in their lives are stars. Elbereth Gilthoniel, Elbereth the Star-Kindler, was what they first awoke to in Middle Earth. This seems to be a star decoration with a mirror on the inside. Mirrors are reflective like water. Just like in the 'Into the West' lyrics "And all will turn to silver glass. A light on the water"
Candles give off a very enchanting feeling, and they can be quite inventive. In Rivendell, if you kept an eye out, you might have spotted the tree-like candlelabra. I think this is an excellent compromise, especially if you have a small room.
I'm assuming that this is the type of object as above, holding the Ivy or water, or anything else you might prefer. Even rose petals would provide a lovely scent if you kept it by your bed.
When it comes to lighting, a good decorative piece, once again using candles, is a good choice. Not only are you adding to that Elvish appearance, but you're also saving money on that electric bill! Just be careful when it comes to using fire, though.
Also in this theme, if you look to the right on the top image, you'll see that kind of see-through fabric. I find this to be very Elf-like, especially for putting around the window. During the warmer seasons, it's nice to open your window and let the breeze sweep the fabric up along with the wind. It's also great for hanging around the bed like a light curtain.
