The DMLP Mission

For ‘We the People’ to govern ourselves, a truly democratically free and openly diverse broadcast system is imperative.

Democracy, we believe, is stretched to the breaking point when a few for-profit corporations control the vital flow of mass communications on our nation.

The Democratic Media Legal Project team is already developing the ground breaking framework for a constitutional challenge to the present broadcasting structure.

We will ask the courts to order the restoration of the publicly-owned airwaves to meaningful public control as appropriate for a democratic nation.

Our mission: To bring about, by means of the legal process, the governance of the publicly owned airwaves in accordance with democratic ideals and the United States Constitution.

The Democratic Media Legal Project will be a valuable organizing vehicle in building the popular political movement necessary to create a diverse and democratic communication system.
