This is your web designer a few years back. It was taken near the finish of the bike portion of the Muncie Edurathon. The triathlon consisted of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run. I don't recall my exact finish time, but it was under five hours. This was the same year I qualified for the short course National Championships. I also finished numerous short triathlons and three half distance races. During the time I was training for triathlons, I had the opportunity to train with many outstanding endurance athletes. Including a seventh place finisher in the RAAM (Bicycle Race Across America), a winner of the Drake Marathon, a friend who ran 50 mile running races, and several finishers of the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon.

The next year I went back to school. It was a major lifestyle change. I move from a low population area to a high population area. I had hoped to continue racing, but it wasn't to be. I found I really didn't enjoy training in high traffic areas. Before I moved, I would see only a few cars in a fifty mile ride. Now I met hundreds. That, and the stress of school, caused me to quit training for one year. The lack of training caused a lot of depression.

I knew I had to do something. The next year, I started lifting weights. Starting out on a Soloflex, I made good gains. Latter, I moved to free weights. Over a number of years, I put together my current weight setup. One year after that, I started submission grappling.

During my submission grappling training, I had the opportunity to train with many top no rules fighters and some of the baddest men ever to walk the planet. I trained with Pat Miletch, The Lightweight Ultimate Fighting Champion, for a number of years. During that time, I trained with Joe Slick, Mark Hanson, Jeremy Horn, Andy Sanders, and many more top fighters. Unfortunately, due to of job problems, I am unable to grapple very much. I hope to change that soon.

Currently, I try to get in two to three hard weight workout a week. I also spend some time on endurance, grappling, and balance drills. I am always looking to improve the way I train.
