The Rover Event & Rules:
The tournament is double elimination. Which ever rover collects the most balls at the end of the time wins.
The arena will be set up in the gym and will contain home bases (where the rovers start during each round and where balls can be collected during round), obstacles, ping pong balls and the two opposing rovers.
Although the goal was full autonomy, the groups have decided to allow a tethered rover that is controlled by a person who can not see the arena and can only see the control that is connected to the tether.
The rovers can be aggressive (interfere with the motion of other rovers) but if your rover damages another rover you are disqualified. (There are only a few minutes between each round leaving little time to repair any broken aspects of the rover.)
The balls can be taken out of the rover during the round when the rover is in the home base. This will prevent the storage device from overflowing or becoming jammed.
