Re: Survey Response

Under what conditions if any, should preferential treatment be shown to
one gender in family law cases? Which gender and with what restrictions?
Explain:

REPLY: None. We are a nation striving for fair treatment.
Gender, Race, Religion, or any other factor should play
no part in any juducial matter.

What percentage of all domestic violence do you believe is committed by
men?

research studies, (e) other

To your knowledge and in your opinion, does the issuance of a protective
order result in decreased domestic violence? Explain:

REPLY: No. I do not think so. If someone wants to be hurtful, they
will do whatever they can.

Do you believe the current Family Law system treats both men and women
equally and what would you change if given the opportunity? Explain:

REPLY: No. I believe favor is given to women and children. Law
should be equally asserted. I would make any crime involving
a family member equally punishable.

Do you believe that false testimony occurs frequently in contested custody
or divorce cases? If so, what can be done to deal with this situation?
Explain:

REPLY: Sure. From both sides. I think be having set guidelines for
divorces a lot of pain and suffering during cases can be eliminated.

Currently, judges issuing protective orders via Ex Parte requests consider
only the written statement made in the request and if the accused is
capable of carrying out the alleged action. Do you feel that the civil
rights of the accused are adequately protected under these conditions? If
not, what changes would you recommend? Explain:

REPLY: I beleive anyone should have the right to peace. A restraining
order should be a mutual "DO NOT HAVE CONTACT WITH EACHOTHER" rather than
a "STAY AWAY FROM HIM/HER".

Are you concerned that the number of domestic violence protective orders
fall disproportionately against men and to what do you attribute it?
Explain:

REPLY: Yes. Ruth Ann Aaron tried to have her husband killed via poison,
hitmen, and other means.

Would you support legislation to modify the current domestic violence
statues to correct abuses currently occurring in the system? Explain:

REPLY: Yes. If it is not biased towards any gender.

Do you believe that given the opportunity, as a single parent, both men
and women are equally capable of raising children? Explain:

REPLY: Yes. It is not the gender that matters, it is the drive and love
one has for their children. Ideally, children should be raised by
both parents.

Would you support legislation to direct judges to require the joint legal
physical custody of children unless there are compelling reasons not to do
so? Explain:

REPLY: Yes.

What are the compelling reasons for not giving joint legal physical
custody of children to both parents who live in the same jurisdiction?
Explain:

REPLY: Abuse, inability to provide support (clothes, housing, meals),
        stability, LOVE!
