Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
                                       Romans 12:2(a)
The flow of traffic.  With that statement in mind, what does it make you think about?  For me, it makes me think of driving wherever there is traffic.  Simple enough.  Kind of a "duh" statement.  Everyone is going the same speed with the exceptions of those driving way to fast to get to where they are going just two minutes faster; and those that actually drive the speed limit irritate us because they aren't going the speed we want them to go with the flow of the faster traffic.  Well, lately I have been thinking of how much with the flow of traffic I have been going.  Not only with driving, but just in daily living alone.  I haven't really been doing what God would want me to do; in other words, I have been conforming to the patterns of this world.  Recently, I have been involved with a Wednesday night Bible study, and it has been slowly opening my eyes and renewing my mind.  This opening of my eyes is showing me just how much I was going with the flow, and it is scary.  God has called us to be His followers and think and act like He does.  He wants us to stand out like a sore thumb.  Not like the speeders because they're breaking the law, but like those that go the speed limit, because that shows obedience, and obedience is one thing that God desires from us.  God gives us laws to learn and obey and to renew our mind with what is right.  So let us start evaluating the flow and what God really wants us to do, no matter the consequences.
Challenge:  While we're driving along, it doesn't matter where, when we think we notice a cop or see a car that is used as an undercover cop car, we always get scared, put out foot over the brake pedal and check our speed.  Why?  I think you know the reason why.  Because you don't want to be pulled over.  Well, don't worry about the cops anymore.  The reason being?  They can only give you a ticket, and that's only if they catch you, right?  Well, God sees you all the time, even if you're on a deserted road all by yourself.  And I think God can do a lot worse than a speeding ticket.  I'm not saying that speeders will go to hell, but we aren't obeying God when we break the law.  God loves you and doesn't want to do worse than a speeding ticket.  He provides cops to keep us accountable.  But I have thought of a new way to keep us accountable.  Whenever you drive, think of yourself as a chauffer for God.  Would you drive the way you do if you knew God was sitting in the backseat watching everything you do?
