A generous man will prosper, he who refreshes will himself be refreshed.                                                                                                         Proverbs 11:25
Tithing.  One of Gods big things.  It is very important, not just to God, but to His family and to us as well.  For a long time I had the hardest time tithing because I always thought I never had enough money.  I always thought I could prosper more without tithing, and that was before I had any bills.  Then one day, out of nowhere, I started tithing on a regular basis.  It was okay.  I felt like I was being generous and in a sense, I was.  Soon after, the bills started pouring in and it really scared me.  The first thing I thought was, "Okay, I won't be able to tithe anymore."  And boy, am I glad that was just a thought.  Sure, times are tough and get tougher, but through a true generousity of giving what you can, God can and will use it.  Through this true generousity, God will help you be prosperous.  I'm not saying that I am rich now.  I still struggle to make it financially and I don't have any big bills yet, but the Lord is helping me to make enough money to pay the bills I have.  Not only can you be generous with your money or resources, you can also be generous with your time and how much you help others in times of need.  You can be generous with your skills and what you know, teaching others and helping them understand whatever it is you're teaching.  By our being generous with our skills, time, resources, and whatever else we can be generous with, we are refreshing others.  When we refresh others and see them going from high stress to low or no stress, especially when it is a friend, family member or fellow Christian, we get refreshed as well.  Seeing the big smile on their face or being really relieved or whatever way they show their refreshness refreshes those that help them to feel better and get a second wind.  It does not take a lot of money or skills to be generous.  But it does take your heart.  And when we are being generous with or without knowing it, in some way, we could be refreshing someone else.  So when you give, give out of your heart and just know God will do His best when you give your best.
Challenge:  Sometimes we get in habits that are not bad, such as tithing or helping in some way like teaching Sunday school, leading the congregation in praise, or even greeting, yet they can become routine.  When it becomes routine, then we are not really giving our best.  It is like we are just doing the same old thing again and again.  That's not good.  So let us find ways to make our giving or our generousity mean something to us again.  Let's give our generousity with our heart and try to show others the generousity that God has shown us.

                        May the Lord Bless You
