After the first twenty minutes of the match nobody could have predicted how it was to come to life.  The match was played fairly for the most part but was ruined by the referee (who's name I can't remember) who booked three Falkirk players, one St Mirren player plus sent off McGinty.  Anyway, back to the game.  Neither team looked likely to score in the first half hour but it was St Mirren who seemed happy to push forward.  The Bairns took the lead 28 minutes in when Jamie McQuilken ran across field and passed to Steven Craig on the right wing.  Craig headed for the by line and looked to have over ran it but he recovered well and passed back to Andy Lawrie who's cross was sent home by a thumping header from Ian Morris (with a little help form the post)  A dark could was cast over the opening 45 minutes when Steven Rennie was stretchered off with what looked to be a very serious facial knock.  So serious in fact that even Alex Totten ran into the centre circle along with the physio, a doctor and the stretcher crew.
Half Time: St Mirren 0-1 Falkirk
The second half of this match was blessed with some of the best football we've seen this season and it didn't take long before the Bairns extended the lead.  Substitute Kevin McAllister's free kick from 40 yards was expertly controlled by Kevin Christie who's pass was met by Lee Miller who's shot in turn rattled the under side of the cross-bar and went in.  St Mirren's Brian McGintey was sent off after the break for a second booking. The Buddies came back into the match a few minutes later when Brain MccLaughlan beat Hogarth from close range.  A bizzare goal followed for Falkirk.  Ian Morris got the break of the ball just outside the six yard box u but instead of hitting in on the volley he got his head down to it and somehow it found its way past Ludovic Roy in the saints goal.  There was no way back for St Mirren now and Lee Miller grabbed his second after 76 minutes when he converted Kevin McAllister's low cross with ease and Lee Wilkie also got his name on the score sheet with 7 minutes remaining when he fiered past Ludo from 11 yards.
