Both sets of supporters were in good voice as Falkirk took to the field with to home debutants and the two Trinidadians Colin Samuel and Devon Mitchell on the bench.

Dunfermline had the first chance of the match when Stevie Crawford slid in front of the defence only to fire his shot over the bar.  Kevin McAllister was next to have a chance but his shot was cleared off the line by defender Greg McDonald.  Fifteen minutes later Steven Craig had a similar shot cleared off the line.

Dunfermline took the lead after half an hourwhen Greg McDonald rose completely un challenged to head into the bottom left hand corner.

Into the second half Paul Wright had a good chance to bring it level but he was judged to be off side as he ran through on goal.  Falkirk's game really changed following the introduction of Devon Mitchell and Colin Samuel.  The first chance fell to Colin Samuel but he tripped over the ball trying to hit a shot.  The next chance was Samuels too but instead of going for the ball he ran full speed into goalkeeper Scott Thomson.

Falkirk brought it level after 88 minutes when Devon Michell was sent through on goal, he ran half the length of the park and then poked the ball into the bottom corner.  Falkirk took the lead in the lead only seconds before the end when Steve Watson's shot came back off the post Devon Mitchell was on hand to blast the ball home from eight yards.
