I always thought the Fiesta Fly was based only on the mk1 cars. That was until I saw this car advertised on Ebay in early 2004. Shortly after the auction had finished I received an email from the new owner Matt Bishop who informed me "My car IS a Fly, it was made by F.English and designed by Crayford, and originally it had a Fly badge on the back.....and from the evidence I have and from what the previous owner told me I believe this was the only (mk 2) one ever made"
Well.....that was until the Fiesta In The Park show in May 2004 hosted by the Fiesta Club GB when a white car, registered B156 ORU turned up and caused  a bit of a stirr.
Matt didn't waste much time getting to work on the Fly and promptly changed to XR2i wheels, which quite honestly look wrong on a Mk2 anyway, so a set of XR2 mk2 pepperpot alloys were fitted. Matt also pestered Classic Ford magazine enough to get the car a full feature in their August 2004 issue, where it was disclosed that the engine in this car which was originally a 1.1 had been replaced by a 1.3 Fiesta Supersport engine.
