Rated: R
He moved with lighting speed through the onslaught of armed maniacs. Snick. Slash.
The uzi fell to pieces with a loud bang. Waste of time. He looked at his fellow teammates working hard to keep the enemies at bay.
"Rogue, what ya doin' get the big one!" The hotheaded brunette looked sharply at the animal. She threw her hand at the so-called 'big one" and stopped short at Wolverine.
"Sugar' what do ya think ah a doing. Just cuz I strong and fly don't mean I don't know what I doin'!" The animal growled but then softened, "I was busy with the others. Let's get a beer and leave the rest of this dump to the team, darlin." He took her arm and led her out of the battle.
"Pause Program" Scott looked at the two stragglers with a strong glare.
"Rogue! Wolverine! We're not through with training. You're going to leave your teammates for a BEER!" He slammed his fist on the glass terminal shocking his wife.
"Scott its o.k. we all need a break anyway." Jean began to rub his shoulders in a circular pattern. *We've been training too hard since the professor fell sick with the flu. We can't continue this way, Scott*
Scott upon hearing his love's advice ended the program and turned to her.
"Jean, I can't let us fall behind on our skills because of the professor. What if because he is ill an enemy attacks." He grasped her waist and pressed his head on her stomach.
" Scott, I'm sure we can take a break for at least a day. Do you want to push them away from you because if you continue you won't have a team to lead." She kissed his head and lowered herself to eye level. She kissed him softly on the lips drawing him away from the now broken control panel. *Come with me my love. Lets forget our troubles for at least one night.*

"Well, an't that something the leaders leaving the team." Jubilee stomped her foot on the transparent floor. Thoughts jumbled in her mind.
Scott and Jean were gonna go make love under a mistletoe and leave them here with out a word. Things had gotten worse the Professor got sick but she didn't think them of all people would just go. She ran her hand through her short crop of black and did the same. She walked out.
"Jubilee, where do you think you are going?" From above Storm had witnessed all the events pass by but didn't utter a word from out of interest. She landed next to the Cajun and zapped a lighting streak at the wall out of anger. The team is falling apart. "Chill dow' Stormy, tis fine wit me if tha games ova. Gambit in da mood for relax'n. C'mon Stormy, you like ta come, no?" He touched her cheek with his graceful fingers. " They na have all de fun."
She laughed shaking her white hair fluidly around her shoulders. "No, Gambit, they will not have all the fun. Let us find Logan and Rogue and have a drink or two." The Danger Room was cold and lonely with everyone gone. Its fun just ended.

The table was filled with empty bottles and filled bellies. The room was filled with laughter and memories of the past battles and old loves. Drunkenness had hit Rogue hard and she began to tug on Remy's jacket. Near his ear she whispered "Remy, say lets get outta her' and make some memories of ahr own." Her answer came as a smile and a pat and the thigh. "Cours' tis be a gloves on experience, Cajun." She led him out of his chair with her finger on his chin and blew a kiss. "I like that an' maybe more la'ter." He embraced her and they both stumbled out of the kitchen.
"Some folk just can't hold their liquor." Logan managed to hold his own when it came to beer. Healing powers do come in handy at these times. He looked at Storm's face with concern when she turned green. "Ro', you alright. Ya go to the bathroom if ya need it." He spoke to late and she ran out leaving him to his thoughts. He could hear a very unladylike noise coming from the nearby door. " Guess I be the only one with endurance when it comes to the alcohol." He finished his last drop and went to his room for a much desired rest.
He removed his clothes to his bear ass and slipped under the sheets. With a warm tummy he fell straight to sleep.
Clouds.
White clouds. Pyramid.
He could hear a voice, a female voice from a distance. It was soft and light, barely audible to someone without superior senses. "Wolverine, come to me I ne....."
He woke with a cold shudder and reached for his head. "Guess I should wear some jammies if it get cold like this." He moved for his jeans and quickly put them on. He glanced at the digital clock on the table. "6:00. Geez, this to early to be waking for a Danger Room exercise." Growling he moved to the bathroom. Freshly washed and smelling like roses, he went down for some coffee. He stopped at the sight of the southern belle kissing the Cajun pepper.
"Well an't this the sight for a man who just got up. Get cha selves another room cuz I want some coffee." He strolled over to the counter and poured himself a cup.
"Logan, we sorry, ah get ya the paper." Rogue went outside for the news and Remy sat next to the angry morning person.
"So wha' got the bear in a ruffle? Remy don' like a man ruffled afta the night Remy had." His red on black eyes looked innocent enough but the devil inside was trying to get a rise from the beast. "Leave me to my coffee, Cajun." The deep voice shook his coffee and made Remy's slip out of his hands and into the danger zone. "Shit! Ta hurt!" His screaming brought the blue beast in running. "What happened? Are you all right Remy? Oh .... I see. Isn't it a little early for a brawl you two." Then he walked out returning to his much needed research.
"Logan, ah got cha paper. So more training in tha Danger Room? I donna know why? We ready for any thing.", Rogue sat with a pout, "Ah wanna sleep late." Remy looked across the table and an evil grin swept on to his face, "You ain' goin' back ta sleepin' wit Remy around ya." He reached over to her gloved hand and kissed her palm.
Logan got up and left the room. Their be no peace with those two. He decided to take his coffee to the patio and greet the morning rays. I'm happy for those two but take a break for a man in the morning. For the first time in his life he felt alone and didn't like it one bit. He leaned back in his chair and stared at the sky. Life had little meaning without the X-men and he wasn't about to leave Jubilee but their had to be something more in store for the legendary Wolverine. His lazy eyes took notice of the morning clouds.
Clouds.
White clouds. Pyramids!
He jumped from his chair and saw one tall peak break through the clouds. He gaze fell to the amazingly huge structure. "What the hell are is that doin' in New York?" He ran inside to the kitchen and grabbed the fondling couple outside.
"Look ya two, stop touching each other and look at the sky" Remy stepped away and glanced up at the clouds but didn't see anything but birds heading for the garage.
"Damn right mon ami, those birds t' will crap' on Remy's car! Remy must stop t'm now! Come wit Remy, Rogue, we'll stop them!" He flung Rogue over his shoulder and they headed for the little niche in his backseat with thoughts of things other then the damn birds.
"Hey, ya ain't seen the pyramid!" He began walking to the structure with his claws extracted. "Guess this be a one on one. I'll check things out." He found something formed like an entrance with strange symbols bordering it. "What does a cow have ta do with a pyramid on the lawn?" He entered with claws out and senses keened on finding out.
The inside was classic Egyptian but it seemed new. Of course why wouldn't it be new since weirder things have happened around here. It was oddly cold and he couldn't pick up a scent anywhere. He ventured into a hall with the strange writing on the walls again. I guess this crap is that hieroglyphics shit these people used instead of writin' words. He put his nose into the air and tried again for a trail. The smell of sandalwood and thyme caught him off guard. "Guess their be someone around her' finally." He approached the room warily and slipped inside. Fires were lit in little baskets next to the aisles of pillars and in the center was a huge monument of a leopard with claws stretching out to the one woman praising at its feet. Slowly he moved behind one of the pillars and peered in closer to watch the ceremony.
A woman with long sliver blue hair approached the statue and placed a gold crown before her God. She held a dagger in her left hand and raised it in the air above and called out, "Ka-Maat-Ku! I your servant have arrived at the bringer of life and fortune. I praise thee oh Goddess, I am here to serve your will!" She stepped up to the altar and placed the dagger to her palm and sliced her hand. Blood spilled over her purple robe as she quickly wiped the residue of her life across the mouth of the cat.
A brilliant white light streaked through the cat and shards of stone went flying in every direction. Logan covered his eyes with his hand and stumbled back from the force of the explosion. He gazed back to the altar to find himself alone and with a slit of stone in his arm. Only a few moments past for the instant healing to commence. He thought about the Danger Room session and sighed, "Ain't their a team somewhere that should be aware of our new guests?" he turned to go back to the estate but only found a fist and blackness.
***********
"Where the hell is everyone?", Jubilee wandered through the mansion in hopes of getting out of training. Guess I won't have to come up with an excuse. Don't bother me none but where is everyone? She had knocked on Wolvie's door and Remy's but didn't bother with Rogues because of recent sexual events made her conceive the thought that maybe they would be together. She walked into the lab to find Beast at work on a flu remedy for the Professor.
"Beast? Have ya been out today? I haven't seen anyone around", she leaned onto the desk with a innocent look and released a breath, "Could ya ....I mean if your not busy to much....ah could you come and keep me company. No ones around to talk to!"
He looked up at her, smiled, and said, "I could use a little break. We can discuss Polaris' theory of Evolution and the recent fossil discoveries in Guinea. I've been looking for someone to have a debate with." She raised her hands in defense and patted his blue furry shoulders, "Ya know I didn't check on Storm. And you need to help fix up the Professor. I'll see ya later." She leaped form the desk and jetted for the door. Beast just stared after her and laughed. Good, my plan worked. I love her but sometimes she can be troublesome.
************
He woke with a headache and snarled at the fact that he'd been knocked out by surprise.
He recovered long ago from his injury but someone had tried to tend to it by wrapping it in cloth. He got up and examined his local. A fully furnished room with a bright springy color theme. Their was a bed, a table and two chairs, and a balcony. He moved for the balcony and looked to find he was still at Xavier's School for Higher Learning of course it hadn't been much of a school since the man got sick. Everyone kinda just drifted apart and went their own ways.
A woman walked in carrying a pitcher of water and placed it on the table. He had noticed her earlier at the altar. She pushed her silver blue hair away from her face and sat in a chair. She wore a green wrap of some sort and a diamond studded crown on her head. She glanced at the dark corner of the balcony and feeling rushed with mixed emotions she stiffened her back. "Please come greet me. I have forgiven your prying eyes but wish to learn more of my intruder."
Logan entered casually, "Who are ya and why are ya here?" He leaned against the wall refusing to give in to the enemy's graces. Straight to the point. She liked that in intruders because it limits their time dodging questions. "I am Mai-sheri, servant for the Goddess Ka-Maat-Ku. You have witnessed the ceremony of our Goddess and she wished to learn more of you so I have been sent here to ask you?" She looked at the animal in front of her and wondered if he would hate her for hurting him earlier. She swallowed what little fear she had left and rose to him. "Answer my questions and you will be able to take your leave. First who are you and where is this place?"
"The names Logan and yar in NewYork if that means anything to ya. And I don' take kindly to threats little lady." He moved closer to her, breathing in her sweet young sweat, and raised his hand to her face. Snick. He just wanted to prove his point but the warrior took it literally. She stepped away from him then suddenly was holding a huge sword to his groin. He stared at the powerful shimmering weapon that was inches from its mark.
"Nor do I Logan take kindly to threats. We are here peacefully but if you continue this it will end with you on the floor moaning in pain."
Snick.
"Alright, darlin', tell me why yar here and I'll think about peace or roughin' it with you in battle." She shocked him. He took her as a woman of words not actions but its seems he was mistaken. Kinda nice to be taken by such gorgeous woman.
"We are here to find the man known as Xavier and his followers. My Goddess has witnessed his good deeds and wishes to give him a warrior as a gift in his alliance with Lilandra against the Brood. Our Goddess has survived through the centuries in hiding but has only now since returned to her first home, Earth. You will take me to him, now." She made her way to the door and stood waiting impatiently for her guide.
"First off I ain't your slave so don't tell me what ta do. Second why the hell can't anybody see this thing but only me." He stepped away from the still remaining blade and walked back to the balcony. He leaned against the wall and let out a long waited sigh.
She placed her sword in its sheath and moved to the pitcher and poured a glass of wine.
She took the chalice to her lips and drunk its nectar then came closer to the balcony herself. She had time to waste before the shield would lose its power and all would be unveiled. "There is a shield shrouding this pyramid but for some unknown reason you have pierced it. That will be solved in due time." She presented the chalice to him and he took a sip. The warm wine hit his lips like thunder. Warm, tingling, and luscious thoughts entered his thoughts. This is tasty stuff not your ordinary beer here. He savored every last drop and with a slightly unsteady hand grasped her wrist and dropped the cup.
"Look... Xavier's sick so you'll be dealing with his followers but I gotta.... talk to him first. Tell me how ta get out of this maze..... and I'll be back tonight." He headed for the door with a little help from a grinning participant. It seems I will enjoy this world and its people more than I thought.
Wolverine struggled to the mansion and headed straight for the Professor's suite. He opened the door to find Jubilee gossiping about the latest trends in the fashion world to Xavier. "Chuck, we gotta situation!" He stopped Jubilee in mid-sentence and waved a hand for her to get out. "I know, Logan. I sensed your emotions at the door. Let us....cough.. greet them respectfully."
**************
Storm, Jubilee, Logan, and the others greeted Mai-sheri at her temple. Xavier had managed to wheel himself out with the help of Beast. She came out wearing yet another green royal outfit that made Logan snarl at the fact that he didn't pick up her old scent.
Musta taken a bath after I left. She wanted to be clean for us. He looked her up and down cautiously examining each feature. Curves and long limbs made him smile and raise his gaze to her face. Her features were sharp and precise in measurement on her body but her face held a soft childlike composition. Silver blue hair wrapped her body and framed her face. He stared straight into her brown soulful eyes and felt his heart beat even harder in his chest. She rolled her shoulders from tension and glanced at him and smiled. Is she telepathic? He never thought if she had a power or not. *I don't think she is, Logan.* Jean tapped his shoulder with her finger and gave him a reassuring smile.
*Ya think so, Jeanie. Maybe shes just to good for ya.*
"I am please to finally meet you, Xavier. I am Mai-sheri, servant for the Goddess Maat-Ku, here to be presented before you as you're new recruit and will be remaining on your estate." Out of the eruption of praise and hellos came a grin from a so-called animal's mouth.
