Another point of view

Another day had dawned on the Nomad. The sun was shining brightly the water was calm and gleaming brightly under the sun. Of course the crew couldn’t enjoy this over the sound of Sinbad and Maeve arguing.

“I will not be treated like this!” screamed Maeve

“And I will not be spoken too like that!” Sinbad exclaimed

“Seriously you men are so macho you think women can’t do anything” Maeve said indignantly

“That is not true and you know it Maeve” Sinbad replied

“Then why won’t you allow me to go with you?” she asked

“Because it is too dangerous” Sinbad countered

“Where have I heard that before” Maeve said angrily “oh that’s right…you’ve said that on every adventure we have been on and I have still come back safe and sound!”

“Maeve you are not coming and that is final” he said Maeve was about to reply when a strong voice broke in

“That is enough!” Doubar approached them with Rongar, Kirah and Firouz close behind each wearing an expression of annoyance on there face.

“Guys I am trying to study and it is near impossible with the racket you are making” sighed Kirah

“And you are disturbing everyone else who is trying to do their work” added Firouz

“We’re sorry guys” said Sinbad

“Yes we are sorry” agreed Maeve

“Now you agree on something!” said Doubar rolling his eyes

“I think it’s time you each had a chance to walk in the other one’s shoes” said Kirah

“What do you mean?” asked Maeve

“You’ll see…..wait here” Kirah went to her cabin and returned with a heavily binded book written in what seemed to be Gaelic she flipped through the pages fast apparently searching for something.

“What are you doing?” asked Sinbad Kirah didn’t reply she found what she was looking for she slowly and clearly recited the spell

“As moon differs from sun and water from fire teach these people the skills they lack, to look from the view of another they must work together to change back” a strange yellow light surrounded both Sinbad and Maeve it grew brighter and brighter until the crew had to shield there eyes when the light had vanished both were on the floor but unharmed the figure of Sinbad began to stir.

“Kirah what in name of Allah did you do?” asked Doubar.

“Well I decided that in order to get them to understand each other they need to understand how the other one lives. So I cast a spell to make Maeve take Sinbad’s place and visa versa” she shrugged she helped Sinbad who was now Maeve to her feet.

Then they quickly roused the figure of Maeve who was now actually Sinbad when they were both awake they looked at each other

“Your me, I’m you how in the world did this happen?” Maeve said looking at her new attire.

“Kirah you are in so much trouble!” said Sinbad also looking at his new attire which was not exactly what he was used too.

“well maybe next time instead of arguing you should try and see it from the other persons point of view now you have no choice you always have to do things the hard way” said Kirah barely able to smother a giggle at the look on Sinbad face as he looked at his legs which were now almost completely bare.

The others quite agreed to this they just could not help laughing when Maeve tripped over from not being used to using Sinbad’s powerful legs.

“We are going to treat you exactly how we treat Maeve” said Kirah to Sinbad the others nodded in agreement.

“And we are going to treat you exactly how we treat our Captain” she said too Maeve. Maeve smiled slightly she secretly liked that idea whereas Sinbad was not as fond of it.

The day carried on and Sinbad and Maeve slowly became used to there new bodies they still argued even though each time they did Kirah reminded them that the sooner they stopped their arguing the sooner they would be back in there own bodies.

They soon moored the boat on a mysterious Isle which was called namely “The Isle of mystery” it had lush green trees and beautiful clear lakes but that was not what the crew had come for hidden deep in the deepest part of the Isle was a medallion which would aid them in there quest to find Dim Dim they made there way slowly through the forest finally coming to a deep, dark cave.

“Well let’s get going” said Maeve

“Are you sure it’s safe enough I have got a bad feeling about this” said Sinbad the crew laughed and looked from one to the other.

“What are you laughing at?” asked Maeve crossing her arms firmly infront of her which with Sinbad’s large hands took some getting used too.

“Nothing it’s just that Kirahs spell seems to be working well now you’re beginning too act like each other” said Doubar between laughs.

“Oh guys stop it” said Maeve she turned and strode in to the cavern which made the crew laugh harder seeing Sinbad walking like that Sinbad shook his head and followed Maeve.

The crew doubled up with laughter at that causing Kirah too stumble back Rongar quickly caught her and they followed there strong headed leaders.

They crept quickly along the cavern coming to a dark and foreboding tunnel this time Maeve didn’t say anything but quickly walked on Doubar looked at Kirah and shook his head she grinned back at the friendly man and quickly followed.

The crew soon came upon a large Cavern and as soon as they entered they saw the medallion right in the middle of the cavern.

“Ok this is way too easy” said Doubar looking at the medallion cautiously.

“Yeah there has got to be some sort of trap around it” said Kirah

“well only one way to find out” said Sinbad he approached the medallion slowly almost tripping over he still wasn’t used to Maeve’s feet  he caught his balance quickly and he was just about to reach for the medallion when a rock came down Maeve instinctively jumped forward and pushed him out of the way she landed on top of him they instantly blushed well aware of what the crew was going to say. As expected they all had wide mischievous grins on there faces Kirah opened her mouth to comment but Sinbad and Maeve cut in.

“Don’t say a word” they said in unison which of course made the crew laugh they truly did not understand why two people who really liked each other even loved each other could be so different and yet so alike and still argue enough to wake the dead there relationship was very complicated.

Rongar handed Maeve something.

“It’s the medallion” said Maeve astounded she turned too Rongar

“Rongar how in the world did you get this?” she hadn’t even seen him leave he was so quick and silent she realised then just how important Rongar was to the crew she went to give him a hug but she decided to wait until she was back in her own body the moor just smiled and shrugged

“Great work Rongar” said Sinbad

“Yes excellent work” agreed Firouz

“You’re the best” said Kirah she gave the moor a hug

They quickly made there way back through the forest encountering nothing but a band of mischievous monkey’s which took Firouz’s compass Rongar swiftly grabbed the compass back.

“Thanks Rongar” said Firouz giving his friend a smile he could be very resourceful at times.

When they got back too the ship they placed the medallion on the table Maeve’s books said it would give them a clue to where Dim Dim was.

Sinbad picked it up there seemed to be nothing special about it

“work together” Kirah’s words echoed in her mind she gently held the necklace on the other side for the second time a bright yellow light surrounded them and when it dimmed they looked down they were themselves again! They turned and laughed with relief then the medallion began to glow and a voice boomed.

Happiness has gone he will bring it back to find another piece of the puzzle you must look not forward but back

The light dimmed and the medallion turned back to normal now with the words inscribed on it Maeve sighed sadly.

“Another riddle” she said looking sadly at Sinbad he put his arm on her shoulder.

“And another clue to locating Dim Dim” he said she smiled

“Your right” she stood up and looked at Kirah

“Thankyou Kirah you really helped us in understanding each other” she looked shyly at Sinbad he looked down at the floor embarrassed.

“No problem hey that’s what sisters are for” she laughed then Maeve remembered Rongar she looked at him

“Rongar thankyou for getting the medallion” she hugged the moor.

Doubar approached Kirah later that night.

“Kirah do you think Rongar is hiding something we don’t know about?” he sat down beside her she looked at him her green eyes sparkling.

“Don’t we all Doubar don’t we all” was all that she said Doubar nodded if and when the time was right Rongar and anyone else who had secrets would reveal them.
