The Day was bright and the Nomad was lazily drifting in the shallows near the Port of Naira the crew had unloaded the cargo and were at the local Inn to get some rooms to stay for a few days Sinbad was discussing the rooms with the owner while Doubar, Rongar and Firouz discussed the building Bryn and Maeve were eyeing the nearby markets eager to do some exploring, Bryn’s attention was drawn away from the markets when a young Man around Sinbad’s age entered the Inn Bryn instantly felt her heart jump to her throat Maeve saw the look on Bryn’s face and smiled she knew that look she had the same look on her face when Sinbad had climbed back onboard the ship after rescuing Princess Adena.

 “I saw that look” she whispered to Bryn “what?” she replied innocently “you like him don’t you?” Maeve challenged giving her friend a cheeky grin “I do not” Bryn retorted failing to suppress a smile “yeah right, yeah sure give it up” said Maeve laughing “it’s obvious you like him just go and say hi” she gave Bryn a small push and Bryn stumbled towards the man.

 “Uh hello” said Bryn timidly the man turned he had short dark hair and for a moment she felt herself melting under his dark eyes “hi” he replied smiling “I’m Bryn” she said fumbling for words “I’m Karuan” he answered “so what brings you here?” he asked “Sinbad… My captain thought we should have a rest on land” she answered gesturing towards Sinbad who was now talking to Doubar “what about you?” she said turning back towards Karaun “oh I came here for some work” he handed some money over to the owner Bryn was just about to ask him if he would like too meet up later when Sinbad called her “I have too go” she answered quickly and caught up with her friends “so? Are you going to ask him out?” Maeve asked eagerly “yes, no I don’t know I’ll play it by ear” said Bryn biting her lip “you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain” replied Maeve entering the room she was to share with Bryn “Just go for it” that’s easy for you to say miss I’m to stubborn and proud to admit my feelings for Sinbad” Bryn retorted playfully Maeve’s eyes flashed angrily “I don’t have feelings for Sinbad! And even if I did I am not going to act like a love sick fool” she yelled “lass calm down before you start an inferno” Doubar was at the door “I remember one thing Sinbad told me when we were going after Alana no one who offers love is sick or a fool” he recited Maeve sighed “I don’t love him…I’m not ready to love anyone” she looked over to where Dermott was sitting on the window “is everything ok Maeve?” Bryn asked concerned for her friend “oh yes I’m ok” Maeve forced a smile on her face Doubar left the room “come on lets go for a walk” Maeve said Bryn nodded and the pair left the room.

It wasn’t long before the pair ran into Karaun “hello again Bryn” he greeted her cheerfully “oh hi Karaun” Bryn replied blushing slightly “are you going to introduce me to your friend?” he asked “oh sorry Karaun this is Maeve” “a pleasure” Maeve shook Karauns hand “I have too get back it was nice too meet you Karaun” Maeve smiled and turned whispering in Bryn’s ear “make your move” before quickly heading off to find Sinbad “uh Karaun I was wondering” Bryn Fumbled over the words wondering what on earth she was getting herself into “what is it Bryn” Karaun asked he smiled at her she smiled back suddenly confident “I was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner tonight…just the two of us” she looked at him for a response he looked down at the floor than looked up “I would be honoured” he answered he kissed her on the hand “see you tonight” he said and strode away she sighed heavily with relief and she felt like dancing all the way too the Inn but she contented herself with a big smile and walking back. “Maeve” Bryn called eager to tell her friend “what is it?” Maeve answered “I am going out with Karaun Tonight” she said excitedly “good for you” Maeve replied happy for her friend “we’re going down to the lakes do you want to join us?” said Maeve “sure” sad Bryn and soon they were sitting under a big shady tree Maeve was reading her book but her eyes kept straying to the water where Sinbad was splashing about with Doubar she watched the water running off his bronzed hair and body “I saw that look” said Bryn trying to imitate the redhead “oh please” Maeve said she went back to reading her book. suddenly she felt strong hands lift her up and she felt the cold water surround her she came up coughing and spluttering she didn’t have to ask who was behind it she saw Sinbad’s head break the surface of the water he looked at Maeve with his crooked grin and his blue eyes gleaming with mischief her only response was to duck under and pull him down by the waist they came up laughing and when blue met brown they were silent the rest of the crew looked from one to the other waiting to see what was going to happen they finally managed to tear their eyes apart Doubar laughed Maeve got out of the water and squeezed the excess water from her hair onto the grass she was silent for the rest of the afternoon although Bryn caught her smiling secretly to herself but thought better of mentioning it.

Bryn paced up and down “where is he?” she thought then she heard footsteps and Karaun appeared Bryn was speechless she had thought he was handsome before but this to her was beyond imagination then she suddenly felt strong hands grip her from behind she looked over and saw that Karaun had also been captured by the band of thieves “I believe your captain will pay handsomely for you” growled the man who had Bryn “let me go” she cried struggling to get free “they took the pair away unaware that Dermott had been watching from the window he flew off to warn the others.

“Dermott” said Sinbad when the hawk fluttered into his room after being unable to find Maeve “what is it?” he asked sensing something was wrong in response the hawk ruffled his feathers and squawked “lets find Maeve” he said unable to understand Dermott they found her in a nearby Tavern “Maeve Dermott knows something” Sinbad said Maeve looked at the Hawk and closed her eyes she saw in her mind Bryn and Karaun being taken by the thieves “thieves have taken Bryn and her date” Maeve said “well lets go find them!” said Sinbad firmly.

Meanwhile Bryn and Karaun had been tied up to a tree deep in the forest outside of Naira “let us go or you will regret this night” Bryn threatened the only response she got was laughter “some kind of a date huh?” Karaun said sarcastically “I’m sorry I got you into this” said Bryn “no it’s not your fault” said Karaun “at least now there’s no way you can run away from me” he whispered Bryn was silent.

The crew had reached the outskirts of the village “come on guys” Sinbad encouraged as he stepped into the forest it was notably warmer in the forest Sinbad stopped and looked around trying to decide which route to follow he looked east then turned to Maeve she nodded they silently made there way through the trees after awhile they were beginning to feel that this wasn’t the right direction after all when they heard rustling  and they were surrounded by the thieves Dermott recognised them and gave a loud cry “where are Bryn and Karaun?” demanded Maeve “they are safe but if you want them you will have to pay a price” said the leader of the group “I think we’ll take our chances with the sword” said Sinbad wearily “shall we dance?” he asked the leader and there was the clash of metal on metal Maeve struggled to keep one of the thieves at bay when Rongar swiftly kicked him too the ground “thanks” Maeve said gratefully Rongar nodded in response soon the thieves were all on the ground Maeve used a containment spell she had learnt recently to keep them from escaping “lets go” said Sinbad they found Bryn and Karaun and quickly untied them “it’s about time!” exclaimed Bryn “thankyou Sinbad” said Karaun “don’t mention it” said Sinbad helping him to his feet and they made their way back to the Inn “now as I understand it you two have a date to finish” said Maeve he took her by the “I hope this will be a very special evening” he said “with you here I know it will” Bryn said and he gently kissed her she smiled and they began to head for the restaurant hey were to dine in. Maeve watched them leave “they are so sweet” she thought “I wish I could do that with Sinbad…..I just don’t want to be hurt again” she stood there awhile longer and then went to have dinner with the rest of the crew.

Meanwhile Bryn and Karaun were talking over dinner they had talked about there work there life (although Bryn had to confess she couldn’t remember a lot) and there conversation had almost run out Karaun suddenly got to his feet “Bryn” he said she noted a small amount of nervousness in his voice “I need to ask you something” “anything” she replied he bent down so he was on one knee Bryn knew what was coming “Bryn. Will you marry me?” he asked slowly “I...I….” Bryn was lost for words then she remembered what Maeve had told her “you have nothing to lose and everything to gain” “yes she replied confidently “yes Karaun of course I will marry you” he took a beautiful ring from his pocket and slipped it onto Bryn’s finger he stood up and swung Bryn around laughing she stopped “the crew” she said “what?” said Karaun “I have to tell the crew” she took Karaun by the hand and lead him to the Inn “Guys I have some amazing news” she said bursting into the room the crew went silent “guys, me and Karaun are getting married” it took a couple of seconds to sink in but then Bryn and Karaun were surrounded by pats on the shoulders and calls of “congratulations” they partied long into the night.

The next day the Nomad was ready to set sail “we are really going to miss you Bryn” said Sinbad giving her a hug “yes I don’t know what I’m going to do now I’m the only woman again” said Maeve also giving Bryn a hug “goodbye my dear” said Firouz “goodbye Firouz” said Bryn “goodbye lass” said Doubar wiping a few tears from his eyes then he pulled her into a bone crushing hug “goodbye Doubar my friend” she replied then she turned to Rongar he handed her a note goodbye my friend, good bye may seem forever farewell is like the end but in our hearts a memory and there you’ll always remain Rongar. “Thankyou Rongar” she said hugging the moor “I’ll never forget you” “now you listen here” Doubar was talking to Karaun “you had better treat Bryn well or we’ll be on your back before you know it” “don’t worry Doubar no harm will come to her” Doubar smiled and nodded they boarded the ship and as they sailed off they could see Bryn in the distance “until we meet again Bryn” Maeve said turning to Sinbad “until we meet again”
