| Dear "Concerned Christian" |
|
| This is about a person who had the balls to sign the guestbook as "a concerned christian" but did not leave a way for me to get in contact with them and resolve this narrow-mindedness that this person seems to have. I'm not trying to hurt this person or talk bad about them, but I would VERY STRONGLY suggest that they take a really good look at themselves, Jesus Christ, and their walk with the heavenly father! This is an exact e-mail that I had recieved from a friend in whom I had just met a couple days before they knew that I had a band and especially a band that is under pursecution like we are! Enjoy! |

Love your demo cd! Visited your website, too. Upon reading your guestbook, however, I was discouraged to find that not only atheists, but christians as well are confused at the apparent contradiction of a "Christian Death Metal" band. If you would like to post it on your website, I would like to offer the following "refutation" of any such claims. > > >Christian Death Metal. Upon reading this description, many see an internal conflict of ideas. What's going on here? Isn't rock music un-biblical - and death metal worse? How does one reconcile Christ with such a satanic style of music? Would Jesus be ashamed to call a death metal band his own? The answers may surprise you. > >First of all, Christians and non-Christians alike need to realize that the Bible never WAS,IS,or WILL BE against syncopated rythm. Those who claim rock/metal/or whatever are un-biblical need to reread Psalms 150. Please take note of the guitars in verse 4(stringed instruments), and the drumset described in verse 5. This sounds like Jesus likes to rock. Pursecutors of metal might also want to read verses like Psalms 95:1-2;98:4;and 100:1,. which speak of making a joyful "noise" unto the Lord. Now, what rational human being wouldn't call Jamie's singing/screaming "noise?" > >Seriously, though, to truly take an objective look at the situation, we need to realize that the label 'death metal' is just a term applied to a style of music. Most people probably oppose death metal just because the term sounds bad;'death' connotates suffering,sadness,etc..., while the music itself isn't really the problem. Changing the name to 'life metal,' however, would have no more effect on the music than if changing a circle's name to 'rectangle' would give it four corners, or changing air's name to 'carbon dioxide' would make us all suffocate to death. Thus, death metal is no more satanic than the people who play it. > >Also, all throughout the bible, we see examples of great worshippers of God -one of the most respected being that of David. David played his harp for Saul as a youth, and he even wrote a majority of the psalms in the book of Psalms. However, what set David apart from many other worshippers was not his style of music, the instrument he played, nor the amount of music that he wrote, but the condition of his heart before God. Yes, David murdered a man and stole his wife, but once he realized his sin, he immediately repented, humbling himself before God. Because of this, God exalted David, blessing his lineage with the messiah. And although his wife hated it, oh yeah... David could rock(2 Samuel 6:14-20)! > >So, when it comes right down to it, God doesn't care if His servants play Christian Country, Christian Techno, Christian Rap, or Christian Death Metal, just as long as that label "Christian" means more than just going to church on Sundays. Therefore, in the end, the measure of music all boils down to a matter of the heart(Proverbs 5:21;4:23;16:2). > > >Hope that helps! And just a pet peeve of mine, I like to stray as far away from sounding like I'm swearing as possible, and your four letter "c" word in your bio sort of sticks out to me. >Anyhow, God Bless, and keep jammin' for Jesus! -B--------:?) |
| Sorry B, It's the only true way to describe what I've been through!-God Bless! |
