Ever since I can remember I’ve dreamed of flying. Not like how most people do, most people think of soaring without wings when they fly.

But me..

I dream of flying on the wings of a dragon. Powerful muscles pumping the large-scale covered appendages, keeping me in the air as the wind flows over me. My dreams have always seemed so real, like entering the body of another me in some other realm where I was meant to soar.

The dreams were always the same. Countless "hours" flying over different places. The sands of Egypt, the ever-moving waters of the oceans, even the brightly lit cities where the inhabitants never sleep.

Sometimes birds would join me in my flight to no where and everywhere, trying to see all I could before they too would awaken and have to fight for survival in their natural homes. Sometimes I would even happen across a mythical creature enjoying the gift of flight that they can so little use since man has started to invade their one place of freedom. A winged pegasus, a fiery phoenix or even the mythic dragon whose wings I fly on.

Tonight though.

Tonight is different.

It all started out as normal. Tonight I was flying over the broad ocean, the smell of the sea flowing into my nose and calming my mind as these dreams do. There were no creatures flying the skies with me this time, no sounds of communication between those creatures and their kin. Then a great storm appeared suddenly before me. Not s simple thundershower that comes in the spring and summer months but a truly horrific show of Nature’s Fury over the open ocean. The wind howled suddenly throwing my flight off as I tried to keep myself aloft; there was nowhere to land in the middle of the ocean after all. The thunder was deafening at such a close range and the lightning forced me to wince at its brilliance. Then the rain began to fall, hard and painful against the fragile material of my wings, tearing through the membrane and making them useless as I flapped them as hard as I could. Sadly it was no use.

I began to fall.

I screamed as I fell through the dark night sky plummeting toward the dark ocean and my dream-self’s unknown fate.

Would I never dream of flying again? Was this the one that would kill my dreams of the skies by killing me from inside my dream? I would never know...

Just as I was about to hit the water something caught me, saving my dreams from their death. I clung tightly to the person that had saved me and turned to thank them.

Yami?

My yami’s face looked into mine as his own wings held strong against the storm taking us higher, above the storm clouds and into the calm sky. He looked down into my eyes and gave me a rare, loving smile.

‘I’ll always catch you when you fall, my hikari.’ He said through our minds as he leaned foreword and pressed his lips to mine.

At this point I awoke and looked around the room in slight confusion until I registered that this was my room and I had been dreaming. I turned my head to the side and saw my yami asleep beside me with a slight smile, like he knew of the kiss from my dream. Though I wouldn’t put it pass our Sennen item to allow us to move within each other’s dreams as well as minds.

I smiled to myself and leaned over and kissed his forehead softly, he mumbled something in his sleep and moved closer and wrapped his arms around me. I smiled and snuggled into his arms and drifted off back to sleep with the words from my dream echoing in my mind.

I don’t know what this was. It just hit me at 2:30AM when I was half-asleep and "Screams of the Undead" by Demon Hunter was playing on my Stereo.

So seeing as it is now...uh..3:30AM please ignore anything that doesn’t make sense. If something is off I’ll fix it later.
