Author Notes: Lost the original chapter one but I feel this is better as a start up point anyway. This is one of the two only Wishmaster fics I’ve found.

The other Wishmaster fic is by Carrier and it’s a Nightmare on Elm St./Wishmaster crossover so Horror fans get a double dose ^_^ GO READ IT!

I walked slowly behind Yugi and Malik as Yugi led Malik excitedly down toward the main display of the museum. Something about some ancient gem or whatever I didn't pay attention when they talked about it. I just wanted an excuse to get away from my house.

I couldn’t stand the memories.

Ever since that night that my boyfriend….ex-boyfriend Keith had almost beat me to death I couldn’t stand the place. Everything reminded me of him. The smell, the few pictures I had of us, happy together, and other random things. Yugi had finally convinced me to go with them to the museum’s last showing of whatever they were here to see. I didn’t really want to.

I hated feeling like a third wheel. They were also so close or always touching each other in some way. Made me feel like I was intruding on their time together. Yugi always insisted that they were happy that I was around since I was their friend, but it still didn’t change how I felt.

"Ryou come look at this!" Yugi’s voice sounded from ahead of me pulling me out of my thoughts.

I walked over and stood by them looking to the thing that had caught Yugi’s eye. My eyes widened at the blood red gem that sat in the display in front of us. It was beautiful! I read the information on the plaque beside the display.

‘This gem was recently discovered hidden in the center of an ancient statue. No one knows why it was hidden but legends found state that a powerful evil was locked inside by a powerful magician to keep the creature from bringing the human race to it’s knees.’

I noticed Yugi shiver out of the corner of my eye.

"That sounds awful. Glad it was sealed away." He said leaning against the other blonde.

"It’s just a story Yugi. It’s not like it really happened." Malik told him laughing quietly.

"Well you never know. A lot of legends and myths are based on something that really happened." My multicolor haired friend said.

Hm. I didn’t think Yugi was into the whole monsters and myths thing.

"Hey we’re closing soon you guys are going to have to leave now." A guard said as he walked up to us.

Yugi groaned unhappily but after Malik whispered something in his ear he perked up and grabbed his boyfriend’s hand, practically dragging him away. I don’t even want to know what he said to him. I have the feeling I’ll be able to hear it from my house.

"Ryou come on! You don’t want to get locked in do you?" Yugi yelled back to me.

"I’m coming!" I replied and walked quickly after him.

I thought I saw something glow out of the corner of my eye but when I turned around there was nothing there. Oh well guess I was just seeing things. I turned again and continued after my friends.

For those who don’t know A Djinn is often called a genie but it isn’t. Most Djinn are said to be evil and manipulative. They take what you wish for and twist it for there own amusement. Or their magic is really literal but either way most wishes given by them aren’t pretty. For example, if you wished for, say, eternal beauty they might turn you into a statue of some kind or something. (I’m pretty sure anyway. If anyone is 100% sure on that e-mail me or leave a review with the correct info and I’ll fix it)

Hope that helps for some of you people whom have never seen Wishmaster or don’t know what a Djinn is. C&C welcome. Flames too they’re fun to laugh at ^_^
