If you are having problems downloading, or don't know
how
right-click on the link of the wallpaper you want
if you are using Netscape, select Save link as...
if you are using Explorer, select Save target as...
save the file on your hard drive, remembering where you put it and the
filename you gave it
If you don't know how to change your
wallpaper
right-click on the center of your desktop (not where an icon is, somewhere
blank on your desktop)
select Properties - this goes to Display Properties within the Control
Panel
Browse your hard drive and locate the desired bitmap file
click OK - this will place the bitmap file in the center of your
desktop, with a black background
OR left-click the Start button
open the Settings folder, and select Control Panel
left-click on the Display icon
Browse as above...
OR left-click on the My Computer icon
left-click on the Control Panel icon
left-click on the Display icon
Browse as above...
If you want the bitmap
to fill the whole desktop
select Tile instead of Center on the Display Properties page
personally, I don't like doing this because it makes the icons on the
desktop hard to read, but some people want the full effect of the wallpapering
I prefer to center the bitmap on the desktop, so I can stick my icons to
the left and right of the bitmap, and everything is still easy to read - try
it!
If you are having problems putting on your Yahoo Messenger skin
please download the newest version of Yahoo Messenger here
make a new directory (use the My Computer function for this) within the /Program Files/Yahoo!/Messenger/Skins folder (this may vary,
depending on where you installed Messenger on your hard drive)
name the folder duranym
save the duranym.zip file (these are the buttons and icons) and whichever background group
you want (i.e. if you like John, you will be downloading john.zip) within the /duranym/ folder
unzip both zip files within the /duranym/ folder using a unzip program such as Winzip
choose the background you want on your Messenger, and rename ONE of the background files (those .BMP files
that have the word background in their filenames) as background.bmp
open Yahoo Messenger, and click on Login, then click on Preferences
click on Appearance on the left hand list of choices, open the menu for Current Theme and
pick duranym
change color of text as desired, and click on the Apply button to save changes
