This is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds from ticket sales and the auction going to the charities that Duran Duran themselves have named:

• John's charity - the American Cancer Society
  the largest source of private, nonprofit cancer research funds in the United States
• Warren's charity - Children in Need
  worldwide charity for children
• Simon's charity - Royal National Lifeboat Institute
  the British equivalent to the U.S. coast guard, completely funded by donations
• Nick's charity - Shelter
  which raises money for the UK homeless

In addition, we, the EB2001 staff, have chosen the following charities:

• a cancer charity - Rock for a Cure
  a nonprofit organization created to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer
