Misery loves company, any company. Tonight that company was the pouring rain that had rolled in from the West just a few minutes ago. Already Orela was soaked, her short, swade coat no pretection from the rain, her hair tucked up under her snazzy sky blue cowboy hat. Her body was chilled to the bone by more then just the cold rain. She stood on the roof of a building in the center of New Paralwood, captial of Glamora. Down below, people were scurrying to get out of the rain, lest they ruin their emaculet hair or smear their expensive makeup. But Orela didn't care that she looked like some pathetic clown, her mascara running down her face. All she cared about at that moment was wondering what went wrong.

"When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same"

Why? That one word kept running threw her head, why. Why did he do it? Why did he lie? Did he really think she wouldn't find out? Did he think she was so blind as to not see? Why? Closeing her eyes, Orela thought back to this morning. She'd been sorting threw a box of old clothes, looking for that baby blue skirt she was planning on wearing to her interview. She didn't know why she looked in the box, but she had. In the bottom she'd been surpriced to find a data cube. How had that gotten stuck down there? Curious she'd popped it into the player.

"Cause nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

We've been through this such a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain"

Opening her eyes, Orela looked across the way at the building riseing above her. Directly across from her spot was a balcony. The doors had been left open, the curtains flapping gentely in the breeze as she rain splashed across the marble floor and railings. Watching, waiting she saw him come into view. Clad only in a pair of black, silk trowsers, his long, sandy blonde hair mussed, she could almost smell him. That scent only he had, like sweat, leather and his musky colauon, the way he always smelled after sex. Only she hadn't been the one makeing him smell that way. It hadn't been her trailing her finger's threw his soft, thick hair, it hadn't been her running her hands down his lean, muscular body just moments ago. It wasn't her over there.

"But lovers always come and lovers always go
An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today
Walking away"

Reaching into the pocket of her swade coat, she pulled out her phone. Silently hopeing the little, old thing wouldn't short out on her in this downpour, she hit the speed dial. She indulged in admiring his backside as he bent over to get the suddenly ringing phone out of his jacket, "Damn, he always did have a cute butt." she thought just before he picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hey babe." her voice was deceptively sweet, like it ussually was, when she was still nievely blind.

"Orela! Hey sweets, how'd the interview go today?"

"I didn't go. Something came up." she said, her voice totaly casual.

"Oh? Sorry to here that, I know you were looking forward to that jig."

"Yeah, but we can't have everything we want. Babe, could you do me a favor?" Orela poured on the sweetness. She heard him sigh softly, wondering to himself what she wanted him to pick up on the way home this time.

"Sure, what?"

"Look to your left." she saw him stiffen.

"What?"

"Look to your left." she watched him turn to his left, until he was faceing the open balcony. She knew the instant he saw her standing across the way, his froze like a deer in the headlights of an onrushing car. "Hi Loverboy." Orela smiled as she raised her other hand, takeing careful aim, "A word of advice Devin, don't screw with Orela Rispal." Devin never had a chance. Before he could move, the pea sized pelit had buryed it'self in the skin of his chest, relieseing it's minut amount of toxin into his blood. He had just enough time to gasp and stager back a few steps before his heart exploded. Waiting, Orela lowered the phone from her ear. As if on que, a young woman, with only a bedsheet wrapped around her stepped into view, her eyes glued to the now dead man laying on her floor. Takeing aim again, Orela smiled bitterly, "That goes double for you, sis."

The pelit hit her between her shoulder blades, delivering a different toxen into her body. This one attacked the pain resepters threw out her body. Watching her baby sister Terry fall to the floor, screaming in agony, Orela couldn't help but enjoy her suffering. About thirty seconds later, the toxin turned her brain into something akin to pudding.

"If we could take the time to lay it on the line
I could rest my head just knowin' that you were mine, all mine
So if you want to love me then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin' in the cold November rain"

Pocketing the phone and gun, she turned and walked casually from the roof. She said not a word as she made her way quickly down the fourteen flights of stairs, emurging into a back alley. The rain had stopped by now and pauseing a moment , she grabbed the blue cowboy hat off her head, letting her long hair spill down her back. Tossing the hat in a nearby dumpster, she stepped out onto the street. Checking herself in a store window, she pushed a strand of her newly perma-dyed bright pink hair behind her ear. Smileing at herself she said softly, "Goodbye Orela Rispal...... Hello Opulence Licoriceplanet."With that she moved off, blending into the crowd, singing softly to herself as she headed for a new life.....

"Cause nothin' lasts forever even cold November rain"
