| The clash of metal broke the still of the night. The harsh sound rang out over the stone, vibrating the ground on which she stood. The light weight sword felt almost alive in her hands, almost a part of her body. It shown in the starlight, like liveing silver. Green flames etched into it's blade danced before her, adding to her strenth as she swung around. Again she struck, the white blade pressed agnest black. As her blade gave light, so her foe's seemed to drink it in. The black twisted blade reached for her neck, hissing threw the air, a snake longing to taste her flesh. Again she blocked, forceing the unholy blade away. And so they danced, back and forth. Was it hours or only seconds that they faught? Suddenly, with a twist, her sword was knocked from her hands, lost in the night. Without thinking, she lashed out, her boot strikeing her opponent's wrist. The black sword disapeared into the darkness. Then they were upon each other, hand to hand. They struck, raining blows back and forth. She felt her fists stikeing flesh, felt the wind hiss from behind teeth. She ducked, reaching into her boot. She had but one thought consuming her, one purpose as she pulled her dagger free. She must kill this monster, destroy it before it destroyed anymore lives. She gasped, feeling the blade slid home, felt it slip between ribs, sliceing apart the blackest of hearts. Then, only then, did she see the face of her enemy. She tryed to scream, pulling away. No it wasn't possable! A cold hand grabed her throat, pulling her back. It forced her to look, at a face twisted with hate, deformed by rage, blotched with disease. She stared at a face.....her face. Gasping, Lily sat bolt upright in bed. She clasped her throat, to make sure there was no cold, clammy hand still holding her. She shivered as the cold sweat dryed on her skin. "Lily?" HunterKai sat up next to her, running his hand across her back, "What is it? Another bad dream?" Lily leaned agenst him, takeing comfert in his cool, hard body. "Yes, the worst one yet." She felt Hunter put his arms around her, pulling her close. She buryed her face in his chest, willing the memory of that horrid dream away. "It's ok." Hunter said softly into her hair, "It's just a dream." "But it felt so real." Lily's voice cracked slightly. HunterKai trailed his fingers threw her loose pale violet hair, watching the moonlight dance across it, "Do you want me to get you something? Tea, milk?" "No, I'll be ok." Lily said holding Hunter close. Laying back down, Lily snuggled up to Hunter. She tryed to sleep, but it aluded her. She kept seeing that face...... her face. ***** Lily couldn't stand it anymore. She HAD to talk to someone and she knew who. Lily bite hir lower lip as she walked threw the garden. She felt that familar flutter in her stomache, like a flock of butterfies where trying to find their ways out. She couldn't help it, she always felt nerveous around her Original. "EEEEEEEEEK!!!!" Lily stopped a moment, before running towards the sound. Rounding the corner she spotting her Orginal hanging from the lowest branch of a tree. "Darn It, Sid. Stop sneaking up on me!!!!!!" Hanging from the surpriseingly sturdy branch, Fields of Heather glared down at the offeneding snake. Sid lifted his black head, flicking his tongue at her before slitering off, not realizing he almost gave her a heartattack. Dropping back to the ground, Heather glares daggers at Sid's retreating form. "Darn Snake!! If he wasn't so good at keeping rats out of here, he'd be gone in a second." Heather turned around at the sound of choked giggles. Lily clasped both hands over her mouth, trying hard not to laugh, it wasn't working. Smileing, Heather took a bow, "Thank you, thank you! Come back soon, there's a new act every hour on the hour." With that, Lily nearly fell down laughing. Heather waited for Lily to catch her breath before asking, "So now that you've seen me tangle with my least favorate castle resident, what's on your mind?" Remembering why she was there, Lily felt the nerveousness return full force, "Um... I... uh...well..." Lily bite her lip again, "I've been dreaming." ***** Sitting near the pond, Heather listened as Lily told all. Lily felt a weight lift from her as she talked, telling Heather about each dream, her confusion, her fear. She felt Heather put her arm around her. Sniffling, Lily leaned agenst her, resting her head on Heather's shoulder. They were both silent a moment before Heather spoke. "Lily, those wern't just dreams. You were remembering." Lily wiped at her eyes, just realizeing she had been crying, "What do you mean, remembering?" "Everything you just said, those things you dreamed about were real. They really happened... to me." Lily looked up at Heather, her eyes wide, "What?? You mean the fight at the ruins, the chace threw the forest, being captured, all that happened to you??" "Yes. They did." Lily thought she saw a bit of sadness in those soft violet eyes before it disapeared. An uncomfertable silence fell between them. For a few minutes they sat, lost in their own thoughts. *grumble* Lily's face turned bright red as her stomache made it's own thoughts heard. "I..... quess I forgot to eat breakfast." Lily smiled slightly as Heather bite back her laughter. Standing up, Heather helped Lily to her feet. "Come on, before Hunter acuses me of starving you." Heather chuckled. Together they headed back towards the castle. As they walked, Lily couldn't help but look up at Heather, couldn't help but feel more respect for this woman, her Original. |
