| "WHAT IS THAT?" "I don't know Stan. It just appered in front of me." "Stop! Turn around!" "I'm sorry Stan, I can't." With that the Lexx passed into what looked like a thunder cloud in space.. Lightning bolts rocked the Lexx. Xev came running onto the bridge. "Stan, what's happening?" she tryed not to fall as the Lexx rocked from another hit. "I don't know!" said Stan as he to tryed not to fall. The shaking and bucking of the ship sent 790 rolling across the bridge to land at Xev's feet. "Of course you don't, you boil on the butt of humanity." said 790 before he started rolling towards the other side of the bridge. Just then the storm parted and they left it behind. Ahead was a small green planet. "Lexx, where are we?" "I don't know Stan." Xev walked across the bridge and picked up 790 from where he had landed agenst the far wall. "790, do you know where we are?" asked Xev. "No I don't, oh Goddess of Earthly Delights. I can tell you that where ever we are this planet, nor any of those stars are on any of my charts." said 790. "Well, we were looking for a place for Lexx to eat. Lexx will this planet do?" asked Stan. "Yes, Stan. There is much to eat here." "Good." part2 Stan, Xev, and the freshly awoken Kai, climbed into a moth and headed down to the planet. The Lexx slowly make it's way down to land on the other side of the planet. As Lexx began to eat, Stan, Xev and Kai climbed out of the moth, which had landed in a large rollinf field. "LOOK!!" said Xev pointing down the field. From the trees came a hunched, grotesce figure. "It looks like a .... troll??? said Stan. As the troll scrambled across the field, hot on it's heels came a pack of.... "DOGS???" gasped Stan. "I believe they are Pomeranians." said Kai. The pack of about five dogs chased after the troll, yapping and barking as they tryed to catch it. Each one had to be as large as the moth they stood next to. Their long fluffy coats puffed out as they ran down the ugly troll. "They're sooooo cute." cooed Xev as the pack overtook the troll and knocked it to the ground. They fell on it, yapping happily as they tore it to pieces. "Yeah, cute." said Stan as he turned from the feeding frenze." Just don't think of making one a pet." * * * * * * * * * In the forest at the far end of the clearing, Fields of Clover sat in a tree, watching the Pomeranians finish off the troll. She had always wanted to taim one of those bundles of fluff but not today. She was hunting a more important prey, one of her own kind. Patches of Poison Oak was infected with the Blight, a disease that if left unchecked would kill the entire population of Florana. Fields of Clover had been sent out to find Poison Oak and kill her. There was no cure for the Blight. It drove it's victums mad, amking them attack others but not kill them. Then it would drain all the nutreants from it's host and kill it. Fields of Clover knew she faced contracting the Blight herself. She pushed her thick green hair from her face as the Pomeranians moved off to bath themselves. That was when she saw the three strangers standing at the other end of the clearing. Who are they? she thought. She moved through the trees untill she was as close as she could get to them without giveing herself away. She watched the tqo men and woman. Then a foul odor wafted her way, the smell of decay, of death, of the Blight. Her eyes scaned the trees across from her and the strangers. There croched in some thick underbrush was Patches of Poison Oak. Even from here, Clover could see the oily discharge from Oak's eyes and ears. The white spots stood out agenst her dark green skin. Oak's vines were withered and several had fallen off. Clover froze when she relized that Poison Oak was not looking at her but at the strangers. part3 Patches of Poison oak moved slowly towards the strangers. She moved through the underbrush, several of her vines dragging along the ground, dead. Fields of Clover moved quickly through the trees untill she was on Oak's right. One of the many vines that grew from her back moved forward, taking aim at Poison Oak. The man in the red uniform was arguing with the woman, the man in black watched the two. None noticed Poison Oak moveing towards them. Clover took careful aim. The end of the vine swelling up, turning yellow. Poison Oak crouched over, her eyes locked on the nearest strange, the one in black. She tenced. She launched herself at the stranger. Her snarl turned into a cry of pain as she fell to the ground. The glob of acid burned into her thigh. Fields of Clover stepped from the forest. The vine, having done it's job, pulled back as another moved forward. It begain to swell and turn yellow, ready to launch another glob. But before she could fire, poison Oak got up, the hole in her leg still smoking, and ran into the forest. |
