HunterKai

HunterKai halts his anti-Jade just beyond the tree line, looking up at the APEC castle. He glances down at the huddled figure in his arms, wrapped in old blankets he had scrounged up. His face softens for a moment before hardening again. With a tap of his heels, the anti-Jade moves forward, towards the castle. With every step of the massive beast, HunterKai slowly excepts the truth. HunterKai, one of Nadless's best anti-kais, is now a traitor.

From the battlements, Alexandra leans agenst one of the gargoyles and watches the figure in the distance. She is suspicios of this aparent "change of heart" Kai21 joins her in watching HunterKai, "Can it be?" clearly surprised.

HunterKai stops anti-Jade and looksup at the castle, knowing he's being watched. Shifting his bundle slightly, he pulls his crossbow from his shoulder and tosses it into the moat. He pulls a large knife from his belt, it follows the crossbow. Balanceing the pitiful figure agenst him, he reached over and disconects his brace. With out hesitation, he flings it into the water. He looks back up at the castle, knowing his every move is watched. "I'd ask to come in, but I suspect the answer would be no. So I'll ask you this, I request your assistance, my companion here is dieing." HunterKai waits as loud hacking shakes the person cradled in his arms.

"I'll go down if you cover me.' says Kai21, as he hands Alexandra his squawker, "If anything happens to me, call TR on my squawker. He number is 111." Alexandra knods as Kai21 goes to meet HunterKai.

HunterKai swings down off AJ's back and moves infront of her. AJ nudged HunterKai gently, whimpering. The blanket wrapped figure shivers and coughs again. HunterKai waits.

Above, MyKai and CowboyKai join Alexandra, braces at the ready. "I do not like Nadless clones." growls CowboyKai, "Who does he have with him?"

Kai21 opens the gates and steps outside. He arms his brace but keeps it aimed away from HunterKai giveing him the benefit of hte doubt. "Who have you got there?" he inquires sternly, watching him cautiously. HunterKai moveing slowly, goes down to one knee, sitting the bundle down and leaning it agenst his knee. He pulls back the blanket covering her face. Hunterkai watches as Kai21 turns even paler, "It's not possable," he hears Kai21 say softly.

"Yes it is. The Crea..." HunterKai frowns, "Nadless is obsessed with creating mistess clones." HunterKai smooths back a strand of purple hair laced with whaite, brushing skin that should hae been a rich green but was instead sickly pale and blotched with white. HunterKai looks up at the shocked Kai21 as he stares down at a poorly made clone of Fields of Heather.

Kai21 looks into HunterKai's eyes and is moved to compassion, but says truthfully, "I'm sorry, I doubt there is much we can do for her but we will try." He holds out his arms to take the bundle. HunterKai reluctently hands her over. "I leave it for Alexandra to deside if you should enter, I've no doubt that you would like to be present and I believe you've shown your true colors, son of Kai."

"I know you will do your best. Death here will undoubtable be kinder and gentler here then.." HunterKai clamped his mouth shut.

Haveing climbed down from the battlements, Alexandra hands Kai21 his squawker and checks HunterKai for additional weapons. "You may enter, HunterKai, but I will be watching you and be warned, I've killed several of your brothers and will not hesitate to kill you." MyKai stands to one side, his dark eyes silently afferming that she won't be the only one watching. HunterKai knods towards Alexandra, "Understood."

Kai21 speaks to CowboyKai, "Inform Fields of Heather and warn her, this could be a disease... perhaps Nadless is useing this anti-kai as a pawn. I will get Heather's clone to a containment room. I sugest that Heather don a biohazard suit in the meantime." CowboyKai knoded and ran off. Kai21 carryed the clone down stairs to the containment room. He grabed some fresh linen to replace the dirty blankets she was wrapped in. He couxed some water in her and cleaned any sores he found. The clone was limp in his hands, her breathing was shallow but steady. Kai21 wished Heather would hurry.

In the main hall, HunterKai stood near the wall, his arms crossed over his chest. The emptyness of his arms mirrored the emptyness inside. As soon as she had left his sight, a creeping despair had wraped around his heart. He was confused. He had never felt this before, the knawing cold of fear. He looked up as someone aproched.

"Hi, I'm Twilight." she smiled up at him. "Here, I brought you some hot cocoa." HunterKai looked down at the mug she offered him. He took it from her, feeling it's warmth spread threw his hands, dispelling the numbness that had spread threw out his body. He siped the cocoa, feeling it's warmth sliding downwards. He closed his eyes a moment, savoring this new and strangely wonderful flavor. He had never had anything like it before. Just then another woman came down stairs with something under her arm. "Hello, Hello, sorry to keep you waiting.... How is your companion, HunterKai? I'm revo, by the way... thought I'd pop by in case you wanted to talk... or in case you'd like a game to take your mind off of things..." SHe pulled over a small table and chairs, and began setting up a board - she'd found that chess is a game most Kais take to readily, and a good bridge for those "the dead do not want to talk" moments.

HunterKai seemed at a loss for words, "Thank you...... Twilight." He looked over at the chess board, "I have never played...... this game."

Fields of Heather, out of breath and in an orange biohazard suit, stands outside the containment room, Kai13 beside her. She hits the intercom, "Kai21, I'm here." her voise cracks slightly. Kai21 stands up from bending over the weak clone. He walks over to the door and tells her what he has already done. "Good, of," Heather tryed to compose herslef, "I need you to draw some blood for some tests. If there is anything dangerous it will show up there. I'll send up to the kitchen for some weak soup, you have to get more then just water in her." Kai13 lead Heather into the observation room next door and headed upstairs.
