Work Related Injuries/Conditions
Every day life, whether you work at home as a caregiver, at a computer or desk in a business environment, or as an industrial worker presents it's physical challenges.  Our bodies were built for motion, but often repetitive strains, chronic poor posture or ergonomics, fatugue, slips and falls, or accidents cause subluxations.  Not all subluxations are noticable or painful right away.  Often they happen and days later pain and discomfort symptoms appear, other times pain is felt immediatly.  Either way, regular chiropractic check-ups screen for and correct subluxations, enhancing your body's function and mobility, optimizing your performance and innate healing abilityes.  Chiropractic is great prevention for a healthy body!
Common problems that chiropractic has great success with are:

LOW BACK PAIN AND DISC INJURIES FROM LIFTING AND TWISTING, OR PROLONGED SITTING
          NECK PAIN FROM POSTURAL STRAIN
          HEADACHES - TENSION TYPE, MIGRAINES
          SCIATICA
NUMBNESS AND TINGLING IN ARMS HANDS, LEGS
          CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
          SHOULDE AND ELBOW PAIN
          FOOT AND KNEE PAIN

Motor Vehicle Accidents and Personal Injuries
Many people are involved in car accidents during theri lifetime.  By far the most common auto accident is when one car collides in to the rear-end of anther car.  During such an accident, the passenger in the front vehicle gets their head forcefully jerked back ward and then forward causing injury to the structures of the back and front of th neck.  This type of injury is often called a whiplash.  Even at low speedds, the amount of force generated by such an accidernt is veryn strong and can cause trauma to the ligaments, muscles, facet joints, discs and the spinal nerves.  Besides neck pain and immobility, symptoms such as headaches, nausea, vertigo, arm and shoulder pain, tingling in the hands and fingers and weakenss of the arm and hand are associated with whiplash injury.  It is very important to get immediate evaluation and x-rays to rule out the possibility of fracture.  However in most cases, the injuries are susually to the soft tissues and joints.  Proper management is essential to recover  from the pain and symptoms of whiplash and to prevent future disabiluity.  Whiplast is the result of trauma that causs the head to be proopelled forward then "snapped" back and forth very quickly.  Whiplash inury is common in falls, soporting injuries, accidents and automobile accidents.  In addition to disc damage whiplash can lead to a number of spinal problems such as spinal misalignment, stretching or impingement to  the nerves and soft tissue damage.  The result of whiplash is often headaches, reduced mobility, blrred vision, numbness, "pins and needles" in the face, chest, arms, wrists and hands, neck pain.  Other symptoms such as insomnia and anziety are also common.

Chiropractors are educated to understand whiplash injury and manage the case from beginning to end.  Dealing with insurance compainies and litigation are frequently stressful and complicated.  We are very familiar with the process and can help you make your claims quickly and efficiently.
With pregnancy come hormonalchanges, a shift in body weight and a laxity of connective tissues.  New stresses are experienced by the lower back and pelvis.  many women report that their preganncies were easier and their delivery times shorter when they received chiropractic care.  As well, when mom's spine and pelvis is inline and subluxation free, the baby in-utero has much less stressw from gtorsion and compressive forces.  Often, if uncorrected, subluxations can result in in-utero constraint for the baby and can cause malposition such as breach or transverse presentations.  Specific chiropractic techniques help correct and prevent these kinds of stresses on both mom and baby.
PEDIATRIC CHIROPRACTIC CARE
As a concerned parent, you no doubt wonder if your child is as healthy as possible.  Many factors contribute to your child's overall health.  A major component is the communication between your child's brain and body, a vital link controlling the growth, repair, and function of every tissue and organ in the body.  diet, exercise, rest and emothinal and spiritual support are toher factors as they contribute to your childn's health.
By having subluxations corrected throughout childhood, your child will have a betyter opportunity to be as healthy as possible.  As you make decisions about your baby's health care and are confronted with the issued of antibiotics, vaccinations and the growing use of behavior altering drugs, consult with your chiropractor.  Seek accurate information andmake an informed choice.  First, make sure your child had the best chance to be all that he or she can be by being subluxation-free.
When should your child be checked for subluxations?
Newborn infants should be checked within hours after birth.  The birth process, even under natural and controlled conditions, is potentially traumatic. during the pushing stage of labor, the spine, particularly the neck, may be injured as the baby is compressed and pushed down the birth canal.  The most frequent subluxation experienced by newborns results from the pulling, twisting, and compression of the infant's spine during birth.
Common Childhood Conditions:
Many childhood illnesses may be manifested in the pediatric patient due to abnormal body function caused by subluxations.  And while the injury from forceps deliveries may be less common today, vacuum extraction and eager hands can do even more damage by pulling, forcing and twisting the baby's young spine.  Without the language to explain, many newborns experience colic,, unexplained crying, lack of appetite, frequent ear infections or other signs of poor health.  A chiropractic examination is essential to determine if birth trauma to the spine is involved.
Pediatric Chiropractic Adjustments for Infants:
If indicated, a gentle, life-affirming adjustment is given.  With no more pressure than you'd use to test the ripeness of a tomato, nerve-compromising subluxations can be reduced.  Almost miraculously, many parents see instant improvements in the well-being of their child.
Later, regular chiropractic checkups are helpful to monitor spinal development as infants sit upright, support their heads, learn to crawl and take their first brave steps.  These milestones correlate with the development of their spinal curvatures.  Many experts believe that uncorrected spinal problems during this early stage of development cause the chronic, hard-to-correct subluxations seen in adults.
Although birth subluxations may cause immediate symptoms, such as respiratory depression, there may be far-reaching effects that are manifested for the future of their childhood.  The child's ability to fight against desease, for example, may be lowered.  Colds, ear infections, colic and other illnesses may result.  Bedwetting and many childhood aches and pains are passed off as "growing pains" or "just aphase they're going through."  These symptoms need to be dealth with caustion! Aches and pains at any age are a sign that something isn't right.  subluxations may be involved.
Will my pediatrician approve of chiropractic care for my child?
First, you don't need anyone's approval to seek a chiropractic opinion about health issues affecting your child!  Medical practitioners keeping up with the latest pediatric chiropractic research are starting to understand the value of this natural, drug-free approach to better health.
SPORTS AND CHIROPRACTIC
Many sport-related injuries involve the spine.  Many people, from professional athletes, "weekend warriors", joggers, and those who want to stay in shape are discovering the benefits of chiropractic care.  Spinal injuries can restrict range of motion, reduce strength, slow reflexes, shorten endurance, and decrease perfromance.  Chiropractic care for these types of injuries has become increasingly popular.  Professional sports teams in the NHL, NBA, NFL, CFL, PGA Olympic trainers, and competitive athletes are employing chiropractic doctors because they demand results!
Chiropractic care helps restore function to spinal joints that are "locked up", fixated, and not moving properly.  Besides helping to relieve pain, chiropractic care can also help reduce inflammation.  Muscles, tendons, and ligaments depend upon proper joint movement for peak performance.  Injuries to these tissues can reduce range of motion, affect delicate nerves, decrease blood supply, and can take you out of the game.  Normalizing spinal function helps speed the healing of these oft tissues and reduce the reconditioning effect of being on the sidelines.
Whether you run or bike, play hockey, golf, tennis, or bowling, the best treatment for sports injuries is prevention.  Body checks, collisions, falls, repetitive motion and twisting of the spine creates wear and tear and misalignments in the spine and other joints.  Your body needs a "tune-up once in a while to ensure that your alignment is correct in ordert o optimize your performance and health.
