About Us
Our love of the Australian Shepherd dog began on a freezing winter day when we unintentionally acquired our first Aussie through a relative who could no longer care for her. Since that day, we've read about and researched the Australian Shepherd breed and discovered that these are the dogs for us. We have done some fostering through the Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline and also helped a few dogs independently. Each Aussie that has come into our home has reaffirmed our love for this great breed. Before long, we took an interest in dog shows and competitions, and in the summer of 2005, we acquired Raven from Nightwatch Kennels in Maryland.

Our family consists of two children, my husband, and myself, as well as our Aussies. Our dogs live inside with us, go on trips with us, stay in hotels when we do, and are very much so members of our family. When they aren't playing or trying to coerce treats from one of the children, our Aussies work on obedience training. Manners are of the upmost importance to us, and we want to ensure that our dogs are well-behaved. In addition, we find that our dogs are much happier when we give them daily activities that make them think. The enjoy the sessions and are better and more content companions for them.
