| another must-have, this is the first live cure video release...and quite an excellent film as well. video director tim pope shot the band in 1986 playing at the theatre d'orange in france...at a turning point for the band. they were touring w/the "standing on a beach" release breaking them into larger markets in the states (and elsewhere)...growing more popular and more respected. they had gone from young punks w/pop songs to minimalist experimentalists, and then into darker territory...and then back into quirky pop. all of this and at the end, they were just hitting a creative streak...gaining more fans, finding more critical acceptance... a very strange trip...waiting for dvds... |
