this video just came in today (02/06) and it is just fucking excellent--a copy of a master videotape from the london astoria webcast. that was the first webcast i ever watched--the first one that really mattered to curefans--and it's the exact same stuff that you saw that night...except it's all brilliant quality, top notch video/audio--and this copy is a first generation copy from the original--a videotape from the production company/in-house. the video is super, wonderful shots of everyone in the band from all sorts of cameras...this was a major webcast promotion, so this was well-recorded and presented... a camera over the drum-kit gives you a great view of jason working around his drums, you can clearly make out his drum effects/equipment...it's brilliant watching him work!! the same was done for roger and his keyboards...the rest of the band is easily shot (close-ups/back-shots/sides) with the number of cameras provided--this was a major promotional webcast, so the resources were great...this is a fucking great video.
out of this world watching me fall want fascination street the last day of summer maybe someday from the edge of the deep green sea if only tonight we could sleep... 39 prayers for rain one hundred years bloodflowers a strange day a forest the figurehead disintegration
in addition to the cameras/resources for the video...the band asked long-time cure/producer david m. allen to mix the audio for the show--so it sounds brilliant as well, almost like having a sixth member of the group in the mixing booth. excellent!! the place is clearly packed (club show!!) and the first row/rows are filled w/cameramen shooting lots of stuff, the band plays extremely well (you can review the performance by using the audio page/individual show reviews when i get the london astoria show reviewed--i'll probably get on it soon so it can be used as a reference for this page as well) and this is the video to have... close-ups are everywhere, you can see how robert plays some of the very cool stuff in "39," jason's drumming is highlighted often, he does a lot of work on two hi-hats...you can probably read some of the details on simon's thunderbird bass during some close-ups in "prayers for rain." the white lights go crazy during "one hundred years," they don't have the stage set-up for the dream tour, but the lights get all active and manic--some excellent shots/visuals come out of that action..."bloodflowers" is presented in more subtle lighting with more steady shots. how much better can you get...you can see from overhead as jason hits the breaking glass trigger that kicks off "disintegration," and look over roger's shoulder into the crowd...and then across the stage to see robert, simon and perry all at once...and then after "disintegration," it's over =\
