| What I Use To Be He slowly walked down the sidewalk, his head down, watching his feet shuffle, kicking the pebble ahead of him. His shoulders were slumped, with his hands in his pockets. His head shot up out of habit when he heard a piercing scream. �I actaully got Flames� autographs!� a pre-teen girl was telling her friend. �Oh my gosh! Devin Swade was so hott! Those blue eyes!� It was then that he noticed that across the street at the music store, tons of young girls were lined up. �What�s going on over there?� he asked a girl in her late teens, early twenties, who was passing by. �The flames are doing an autograph signing today!� she said excitely. �Who�re the Flames?� �You�re kidding, right?� she asked looking at him like he was crazy. �The Flames are only the biggest band ever! Devin, their leade singer, is soooo hott!� He crinkled his forehead, as he watched her leave, replaying what she said over in his head. �The Flames are only the biggest band ever!� He walked on, running a hand over his graying hair. It seemed that with each decade, there was a new �Biggest band ever�. Right now in his kids� time, it�s this new group �The Flames�. In his parent�s time it was �The Beatles�. Then in his time it was... Himself. He use to be 1/5 of the successful group *NSYNC. How the times had changed. It was funny hearing these girls talking about Devin Swade from the Flames. That use to be him they talked about all dreamy like. He use to be Justin Timberlake. Now he was just yesterday�s news. |
