| Chapter Ten- Surprise Call Cassy sighed as she pushed play on her stereo, the sounds of *NSYNC flowing out. It had been three week. Three long weeks, and he hadn�t called yet. Not that it would have made any difference, after all Cassy was still grounded. Cassy went over to her computer chair and sat down. She still had to type a 1200 word essay that was due tomorrow. She figured that she probably should get going with it sometime. The phone by the computer started ringing. Figuring that it most likely was Stephanie, Cassy reached over and picked it up. �Hello?� Cassy answered dully, as she typed. �Someone sounds bored,� a man�s voice said on the other side of the line. Cassy frowned at the familiarity of the voice, yet she couldn�t place where she had heard it before. �And whose this?� �You don�t remember?� he pouted. Cassy rolled her eyes. �Jayden? Is that you? I swear, I will get you!� �It�s Justin.� Cassy�s eyes became big, as she almost dropped the phone in shock. �Justin,� Cassy squeeked out. She cleared her throat before repeating clearly, �Jusitn, I didn�t recognize your voice. Sorry.� �So whose Jayden? A boyfriend?� Cassy burst out laughing. �Jayden? You�ve got to be joking! He�s my best friend�s boyfriend.� �Good,� Justin said. There was a silence between them. �So why were you calling?� Cassy asked breaking it. �I was just wondering if you wanna get together sometime?� Cassy bit her bottom lip to keep herself from saying yes. She didn�t want to chance making her dad ground her for even longer. But then agian, how many girls could say that they had �the Justin Timberlake� calling them up to go on a date with him? �Sure, I would love to,� Cassy said cheerfully. �Great,� Justin said. �So you want me to pick you up?� �Uh, how about I meet you somewhere?� Cassy suggested, not wanting her dad to catch her. �OK, there�s a Starbucks downtown, how about we meet there tomorrow, say around three?� �Sound�s great.� �Ok, I�ll see you then.� �Alright, bye,� Cassy said hanging up with a huge smile on her face. |
