Wash away the memories

"I wish you would leave me alone!" Rashelle shouted. Heath held up his hands in defense, afraid she might throw something at him.

"Rashe, please, stop, listen to me..." he tried to input. Rashelle picked up the nearest item, a teddy bear, and threw it at him.

"Get out! I hate you!" she shouted, before falling back onto the couch and curling up into a ball, bursting into tears.

Heath looked at her, crestfallen. He wanted to comfort her, but he knew better, knew she wouldn't forgive him that fast. He backed up, and turned around, and walked out the door, his hands in his pockets, shoulders slumped.

Rashelle couldn't get the picture out of her mind; she had gone to Heath's house to surprise him for their ten-month anniversary, and found another girl there. She had run back to her apartment in shock and anger, and he had followed, wanting to explain. What was there to explain? Another girl! Rashelle got up and went into her bedroom. She slipped off her clothes, grabbed a towel, and got into the shower.

"I'll wash away the memories." she muttered to herself, the water scalding, and her scrubbing furiously. She knew it wasn't that simple. But she could sure try. Her tears continued to fall, mixing with the foaming soap.
