Oh baby dont be scared cause Ill always be there

So tell me what to do I can do it right now
I wanna know more about you baby

Doooooooh

A young Orlando sat in a chair on the outside of the dance floor at his London school. Hed been to many such dances before, and yet could never make himself feel quite comfortable at them. He tried to take reassurance in the presence of his friend Eric, who sat near him. They both turned at the feel of a chilly draft to see the door swing open and a beautiful girl walk into the room. Orlis eyes followed each and every step she took.

She had brown hair in a ponytail, beautiful hazel eyes, and freckles; she wore a shimmering black shirt with tight blue jeans.

Hey Eric, go and ask that girl for her number! Orli whispered softly to his friend.

No! Why dont you if you like her so much!

Fine I will! said Orli in a snotty tone of voice.

Orli slowly got up from his seat and walked onto the dance floor through the crowd, looking back at Eric cockily the whole way.

He walked up to her knelt down and asked: Will you dance with me?

Um no thank you Id rather not. But thanks for asking! she answered politely.

Youre welcome, Orli answered, forcing a smile and trying not to swear under his breath. He walked back to his seat very slowly, hoping she would reconsider and come catch up to him. But unfortuneately he reached Eric without any interruption.

So, stud, what did she say? Eric asked, trying not to laugh.

She wont dance with me, he admitted reluctantly, She said she would rather not but thats okay Im sure shell reconsider I mean you said it yourself Im a stud! Orlando said aloud, more to convince himself of the fact than to convince Eric.

Eric started laughing.

Orlando raised one eyebrow, shaking his head silently at his friend, and resumed his seat without another word.

He found himself watching her the whole night; watching the way she moved when she danced. He was quite jealous when he saw that she danced with several other guys, but had refused to dance with him. He gritted his teeth and vowed he would dance with her before the night was over.

But as the night wore on, he couldnt seem to get up the nerve to ask her to dance again he wasnt sure he could live with himself in the morning if she said no again.

The music started to die down, and Orlando knew he must ask her to dance once again, before the last dance was gone!

Ohh who is that? Eric suddenly asked with a smile on his face.

Who? Orlando asked, finally taking his eyes off of the girl.

Her! Eric had his eyes on a girl with brown crimpy hair and blue eyes; she wore a denim shirt with tight black jeans.

Im gonna go ask her to dance with me! Eric exclaimed enthusiastically.

All right but youll probably get the same answer I did! Orlando warned.

Eric stood slowly and walked up to the girl whod caught his eye. Orlando couldnt hear what he said but soon enough Eric was dancing right next to where Orlando was sitting, laughing as he went along.

Ill show him, Orlando muttered to himself. He got up, as he had before, and headed toward the girl hed been watching all night. As he got closer to her, he noticed she was watching him, but her friend, who now stood next to her, was giggling into her hand. Orlando smiled at the girl he hoped to dance with, and let out a quiet sigh, trying to ignore the anxiety rolling through his stomach. He reached her and made himself ask before he could think: Will will you dance with me?

Go on, her friend muttered to her.

All right Ill dance with you! she answered finally, smiling brilliantly, her cheeks blushing. Orlando grinned at her, relief washing through him. He extended his hand down to her gallantly and she accepted it gingerly. The young girl stood up, allowing herself to be led onto the dance floor by Orlando. He could feel her trembling through her hand, and realized he could hear his heartbeat in his head.

Maybe we should go over here where no one else is, he said to her softly.

Oh okay, she whispered.

They manuevered around the other dancing couples to the far edge of the dance floor, where there was more room for the two of them to talk without other prying ears.

My name is Orlando Bloom, he introduced himself, putting his hands on her hips cautiously.

My name is Kelly Kelly Clarkson, she said, and her voice shook a little.

Well, Kelly, Orlando said, trying to help her relax, you are a very good dancer!

Thank you. Kelly replied, finally looking up at Orlando and then looking back down at her feet. Youre good too!

He frowned at her accent. Youre not from London, are you?

She smiled sheepishly, glancing to him briefly once again before returning her eyes to the floor. Uh, no, she admitted. Im from Austin, Texas the States.

He smiled and nodded. What brings you to London then?

Oh, I came to visit my friend Heather. She nodded over her shoulder to a far chair where her friend sat. As soon as Heather noticed them looking at her she grinned at Kelly, giving a thumbs up. Kelly turned away from her friend quickly, her face turning bright red. They fell silent for a while, each left to their own thoughts. Orlando tried to think of something else to say, but then the music started to die down again and they began to slow their dance.

Orlando thanked her one more time for the dance and Kelly almost ran back to her seat. He watched her go silently, frowning and wishing she wasnt so shy. He would have liked to have gone over and talked to her some more. But instead he turned and went back to his seat next to Eric.

Soon after Kelly got up and asked the DJ if she could sing a song. The DJ nodded his head and gave her the mic. Music started up, and Kelly stepped up to the front of the dance floor, beginning to sing

Oh, my love, my darling
Ive hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love,
I need your love
God speed your love to me

As the music went on Orlando found himself fixed on the girl that had been so scared of him. He couldnt help but think how strange it was that while most girls wouldnt leave him alone, she seemed to want to avoid him.

Orlando knew he mustnt think it, or say it but he had to. She is so hot he whispered to himself. But a girl like her surely must already have a boyfriend. But even if she does I have to find out where shes staying and how to get there before she leaves, Orlando thought to himself urgently.

Is that her sister? Eric asked suddenly, quietly, trying not to interrupt the song.

The woman that Eric had danced with was standing next to Kelly, smiling with pride.

Yah, Orlando murmured, frowning in thought, I guess it could be! He laughed to himself.

Whats so funny? Eric asked in confusion.

Its just that the girl I asked to dance with could be the sister of the girl you asked to dance with, and it happens that you like someone older than me and I like some younger than you.

What? Eric asked, even more confused.

Never mind! Orlando answered, still smiling.

God speed your love to me
Ohhhhh Ohhhhhhh.

Everyone started to applaud, and some even stood up. One of the many who stood was Orlando Bloom, and he clapped furiously in admiration of her voice. He was awed by this mysterious girl, who he had never seen before, and now out of nowhere she appeared and took his heart, and yet she didnt even seem to notice him.

She left the front of the dance floor and returned to where her friend sat. Orli followed her with his eyes, and resumed his seat next to Eric with his eyes still plastered on her. Now and then she would look up at Orlando and then look back to her hands quickly, turning to her friend and continuing her adament discussion.

Orlando knew he must be with her; he felt as if he had known her all his life even though he had just met her. The night seemed to pass by so quickly - to Orlando it felt like a second. But in the rush of people leaving he lost sight of her, and in the next minute she had already walked out the door into the cold and snow of a London November.

Orlando didnt even get to say goodbye to the girl he had met at the dance.

As Orli and Eric forced their feet to carry them out of the warm indoors and into the bitter wind, both of them felt as if they were under a spell. They couldnt get the two girls out of their minds.

And Orlando couldnt help but think again how most every girl hed ever met was attracted to him everyone but her!
