Down the Drain

The water he splashes on his face is cold against his overheated skin.  His reflection in the mirror stares back at him, beads of moisture tracing paths down another man's face.  It is a stark truth that the mirror tells him with the clarity his mind currently lacks: He doesn't know who he is now, but he knows he is not who he used to be.

He splashes his face again, running his fingers over his newly formed features.

He grasps for his identity

And he feels like the last essences of the man he was flow down the drain.
