Nature at its very best
'Rivers run through Rock'
A fabulous picture of waterfalls on a purple Uluru greets us today. Again using statistics to greatest effect the paper reports 'It's not just raining on the Rock, it's bucketing down, with 15 times the average monthly rain having fallen this month'. Ayers Rock Resort public relations officer Mandy Dwyer said 'It's not really the Red Centre, by spring it will almost be the Green Centre'.
But it is news outside the Territory which raised the eyebrows today

'Thirsty monkeys kill'
From the late news - 'A group of thirsty monkeys stoned a herdsman to death in drought-stricken northern Kenya as he watered his livestock, a newspaper reported yesterday. As the drought worsened, the herdsman was killed at a watering point in Wajir district'.

'Lovers locked out'
'Police in China have arrested a doctor for padlocking a woman's vagina to prevent her from having other lovers. Police found the 22-year-old woman had a rusty padlock pierced through two holes in her labia'.

'Shopping streak'
'An Austrian clothing chain is offering shoppers $A620 worth of clothes if the customer enters the store completely naked. Streakers must make it to the checkout counter of any Kleider Bauer outlet, where they will be given a towel and a voucher to buy clothes. But, fearing an onslaught, only the first five strippers a day at the 40 stores will be rewarded'.

'Witches in Wagga worry clerics'
'The Bishop of the Catholic diocese of Wagga Wagga has backed up claims there are witches operating in the area. Bishop William Brennan was responding to concern about a homily by Father Luke Joseph this month where cathedral churchgoers were warned about witches, aromatherapy and yoga'. Is it any wonder people don’t go to church or does it explain why so many good athletes come from Wagga Wagga.
