'RIP Pugsley'
Many Territorians are today inconsolable at the announcement in the Northern Territory News' editorial today of the passing of Pugsley - the esky dwelling echidna. He had captured the hearts of Territorians when he was featured on NT News' front page on January 6. He passed away quietly in his esky - aged only 7 weeks.
I want to be a researcher
Fancy waking up on Saturday afternoon with a right royal hangover after your regular Friday night drinking binge and turning to page 3 of the NT News and reading 'Monday 'heart attack time''. Turns out researchers have worked out that more people die from heart attacks on Monday than any other day and they partly attribute it to weekend drinking binges. The stresses of returning to work were also blamed. Took them 10 years to work this out!
The other amazing discovery, this time by researchers in Washington, was that the incompetent may never know the depths of their own incompetence (page 37). Obviously the researchers had not taken any political study subjects.
Job of the week
The Office of Communications, Science and Advanced Technology (NT Government) has a position available for an Internet Evangelist. No doubt they were inspired by the story earlier this week which announced that Christians could make confessions on the net. But what could the Government possibly want to do with an Evangelist. Could there be an election coming up this year? Perhaps Ananova might apply.
Match the headline to the story
'Beazley launch at wharf' - NT News page 4
Your choices are
1. Beazley arrives in Darwin for a 'major' national policy launch 2. The new frigate Beazley heads for Timor 3. Patrons at Fishermans Wharf swept into harbour by massive wave.
