Northern Territory News headlines
'Teen survives at 120 km/h'
'A teenager driver emerged with only minor injuries after a 120 km/h smash….
The car split in two and virtually disintegrated after slamming into a tree'. One
very lucky boy.
'Heavy rains cut access to Alice'
Road access to Alice Springs from the south has been cut after heavy rains while access from the north is only with extreme care. And, in case you didn't know, the Tanami track has been closed for two days. Nice to know.
'Rangers trap 2m salties'
The dangers continue. Twenty crocodiles have now been removed from Darwin Harbour this year, twice as many as for the same period last year. Today's haul was one of 2.12m and one of 2m.
'Assault by air targets mozzies'
Peter Whelan is at it again. This time spraying Leanyer Swamp and Holmes Jungle to kill larvae at breeding sites. If only we all got so much press coverage for simply doing our job.
A major omission from the paper.
Tonight is pacings night of nights with the Interdominion Pacing Grand Final. An article covering the race is included on page 84 of the paper, but unbelieveably there is no comment in the racing guide itself. Despite the shaded box saying 'Comment on main races only' - only two minor races received the honour. Just plain appalling.
Back to the headlines
'Cartoon snubbed'
Hard to believe but South Park has been blamed for lowering the tone of playground behaviour in an English school. Well spank my ass and call me Charlie, mmmkay fat ass.
And now for the really good news
'Baby pushes star out of spotlight'
Quoting from the paper 'Oasis star Liam Gallagher says being a father has put him in his place - because baby Lennon means he is no longer the centre of attention'. About bloody time.
